The chemotaxis-Stokes system [Formula: see text] is considered subject to the boundary condition [Formula: see text] with [Formula: see text] and a given nonnegative function [Formula: see text]. In contrast to the well-studied case when the second requirement herein is replaced by a homogeneous Neumann boundary condition for [Formula: see text], the Dirichlet condition imposed here seems to destroy a natural energy-like property that has formed a core ingredient in the literature by providing comprehensive regularity features of the latter problem. This paper attempts to suitably cope with accordingly poor regularity information in order to nevertheless derive a statement on global existence within a generalized framework of solvability which involves appropriately mild requirements on regularity, but which maintains mass conservation in the first component as a key solution property.

This paper is concerned with the Holling–Tanner prey–predator model with diffusion subject to the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. We obtain the existence and non-existence of positive non-constant steady states.

We study the behaviour, as t → ∞, of solutions to the convectiondiffusion equation on the half-line with the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition and with bounded initial data. The higher-order terms of the asymptotic expansion in Lp (R+) of solutions are derived.

Abstract We evaluate half-indices of $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = (2, 2) half-BPS boundary conditions in 3d $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 4 supersymmetric Abelian gauge theories. We confirm that the Neumann boundary condition is dual to the generic Dirichlet boundary condition for its mirror theory as the half-indices perfectly match with each other. We find that a naive mirror symmetry between the exceptional Dirichlet boundary conditions defining the Verma modules of the quantum Coulomb and Higgs branch algebras does not always hold. The triangular matrix obtained from the elliptic stable envelope describes the precise mirror transformation of a collection of half-indices for the exceptional Dirichlet boundary conditions.

The purpose of this paper is to study the effect of cross diffusion in a competition model with stage structure, under homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. It will be shown that cross diffusion cannot only destabilize a uniform positive equilibrium, it can also help diffusion to induce instability of the uniform positive equilibrium. Moreover, stationary patterns can arise from the effect of cross diffusion.
