Abstract During the last decade, increasingly advanced turbocharger models have been developed for sizing, engine matching and one-dimensional modeling. This work goes further and, instead of using these models for turbocharged engines design or analysis, it implements them in the data acquisition and control system of a turbocharger gas stand. This way, interesting new capabilities arise. The paper shows that there are important synergies between advanced turbocharger gas stand data acquisition and control systems and the modern turbocharger holistic models that have not been deeply exploited until now. They can be summarized as: on-line heat fluxes analysis, in-situ outlier testing points detection, testing time saving and using digital-twin techniques to monitor turbocharger health during testing.

High temperature ceramic filter is designed and implemented for purification of hot coal gas, and then an experimental system is build in order to test its filtration performance. The reverse-pulse-jet-cleaning is introduced in detail. Finally, field experiment has been carried out and the results show that the ceramic filter keeps a high dust control efficiency and long on-line stability.

The truck scale is more and more applied on the weighing system. To seek illegal profits, many kinds of truck scale cheating method is found in the weighing system. To monitoring the truck scale cheating method, the truck scale cheating automatic monitoring system based on the GPRS is brought out in this paper. The truck scale cheating automatic monitoring system is designed. The monitoring system includes three parts: the monitoring terminal, the GPRS transmission module and the upper monitoring system. The truck scale measurement data of the sensors are collected by the monitoring terminal and sent to the upper monitoring system through the GPRS module. The experimental system is established on the pneumatic conveying system and the experiment is carried out. The experimental results show that the automatic monitoring system can on-line monitor the truck scale cheating method and improves the security of the truck scale weighing system.

AbstractA photoelectric scanning photometer is being tested at the 60 cm-refractor in Hamburg in order to measure visual binaries. The data-acquisition is accomplished by a small on-line computer PDP-8/S which samples data from three photon-counters connected to three narrow slits in the focal plane.A preliminary investigation of the image profile as it is obtained from the adding of many scans of a star on top of each other shows that about 80% of the light is concentrated in a Gaussian core with σ = 1"-2" whereas the rest goes into non-Gaussian wings. The deviation of the profile from a single Gaussian is most pronounced in good seeing.
