Background. Intraplacental choriocarcinoma is a rare but highly malignant trophoblastic neoplasm. When found near term the risk of maternal metastasis is high because of the late diagnosis.Case. We describe a case of an intraplacental choriocarcinoma diagnosed postpartum after a near-term delivery of a severely anemic infant. A fetomaternal hemorrhage resulted in a hemoglobin concentration in the infant of only 2,1 g/dL. Neither mother nor child showed signs of metastatic disease. The macroscopic examination showed a hydropic placenta weighing more than 1 kilogram. Microscopy showed an intraplacental choriocarcinoma 3 cm in diameter. The tumor had infiltrated the maternal basal plate.Conclusion. Fetomaternal bleeding is a rare form of presentation of choriocarcinoma but its presence should always warrant detailed examination of placenta, mother, and infant.

A posztoperatív pajzsmirigyműködés normális maradt.

Bilateral tubal pregnancy (BTP) is a very rare form of ectopic twin gestation. Many times, they occur after the use of assisted reproductive therapy. Most cases of BTP are diagnosed during laparoscopy. This case report demonstrates a rare preoperative, sonography diagnosis of a spontaneous BTP which occurred after a tubal ligation. The sonogram revealed two corpus luteal cysts, both located on the right ovary, which suggests that the left tubal pregnancy most likely occurred as a result of ovum transmigration. This case demonstrates the important role that sonography plays in the early diagnosis of ectopic pregnancies as well as the importance of thoroughly examining the entire pelvis during a pelvic sonogram.

Central vision loss, photopsia, floaters and macular edema in a highly myopic patient can easily be misrelated to high myopia complications. However, in atypical cases, detailed examination along with a thorough diagnostic is required to establish the right diagnosis, which is often beyond the limits of the condition originally considered.

bstract- We reported two cases of immunocompetent patients with a rare form of AIDS-associated Kaposi sarcoma (KS), without visceral involvement, presenting with an unusual clinical and histopathological picture called telangiectatic and lymphangioma-like KS, respectively. Dermatologists and pathologists need to be aware of this uncommon described variant to avoid the potential for misdiagnosis.
