We prove a strong convergence theorem for a common fixed point of two sequences of strictly pseudocontractive mappings in Hilbert spaces. We also provide some applications of the main theorem to find a common element of the set of fixed points of a strict pseudocontraction and the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem in Hilbert spaces. The results extend and improve the recent ones announced by Marino and Xu (2007) and others.

We prove a strong convergence theorem by using a hybrid algorithm in order to find a common fixed point of Lipschitz pseudocontraction and κ-strict pseudocontraction in Hilbert spaces. Our results extend the recent ones announced by Yao et al. (2009) and many others.

An explicit projection algorithm with viscosity technique is constructed for finding the fixed points of the pseudocontractive mapping in Hilbert spaces. Strong convergence theorem is demonstrated. Consequently, as an application, we can approximate to the minimum-norm fixed point of the pseudocontractive mapping.

We introduce a new iterative method for finding a common element of the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem and the set of all common fixed points of a nonexpansive semigroup and prove the strong convergence theorem in Hilbert spaces. Our result extends the recent result of Zegeye and Shahzad (2013). In the last part of the paper, by the way, we point out that there is a slight flaw in the proof of the main result in Shehu's paper (2012) and perfect the proof.

In this paper, we study a strong convergence theorem for a common fixed point of a finite family of Bregman strongly nonexpansive mappings in the framework of reflexive real Banach spaces. As a consequence, we prove convergence theorem for a common fixed point of a finite family of Bergman relatively nonexpansive mappings. Furthermore, we apply our method to prove strong convergence theorems of iterative algorithms for finding a common zero of a finite family of Bregman inverse strongly monotone mappings and a solution of a finite family of variational inequality problems.

For approximating the fixed points of enriched nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces, we consider a modified Krasnosel’skiǐ–Mann algorithm for which we prove a strong convergence theorem. We also empirically compare the rate of convergence of the modified Krasnosel’skiǐ–Mann algorithm and of the simple Krasnosel’skiǐ fixed point algorithm. Based on the numerical experiments reported in the paper we conclude that, for the class of enriched nonexpansive mappings, it is more convenient to work with the simple Krasnosel’skiǐ fixed point algorithm than with the modified Krasnosel’skiǐ–Mann algorithm.

We propose an implicit iterative scheme and an explicit iterative scheme for finding a common element of the set of fixed point of infinitely many strict pseudocontractive mappings and the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem by the general iterative methods. In the setting of real Hilbert spaces, strong convergence theorems are proved. Our results improve and extend the corresponding results reported by many others.

This paper is concerned with a common element of the set of common fixed point for a discrete asymptotically strictly pseudocontractive semigroup and the set of solutions of the mixed equilibrium problems in Hilbert spaces. The strong convergence theorem for the above two sets is obtained by a general iterative scheme based on the shrinking projection method which extends and improves the corresponding ones due to Kim [Proceedings of the Asian Conference on Nonlinear Analysis and Optimization (Matsue, Japan, 2008), 139–162].
