We have examined the constraints on the anomaloustqγ  (q=u,c)couplings through the processpp→pγp→pWbXat the LHC by considering four forward detector acceptances:0.0015<ξ<0.5,0.0015<ξ<0.15,0.015<ξ<0.15, and0.1<ξ<0.5, whereξ=Eγ/EwithEγandEthe energies of the photon and of the incoming proton, respectively. The sensitivity bounds on the anomalous couplings have been obtained at the 95% confidence level in a model independent effective Lagrangian approach. We have found that the bounds on these couplings can be highly improved compared to current experimental bounds.

In this paper, the potentials of two different processes [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) are examined to probe the anomalous quartic [Formula: see text] gauge couplings. For [Formula: see text], 1.5 and 3[Formula: see text]TeV energies at the CLIC, 95% confidence level limits on the anomalous coupling parameters defining the dimension-six operators are found via the effective Lagrangian approach in a model independent way. The best limits on the anomalous couplings [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] which can be achieved with the integrated luminosity of [Formula: see text] at the CLIC with [Formula: see text] are [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], respectively.

The recently observed mass difference of the [Formula: see text] mixing is used to predict the branching ratios of the rare top quark decays t → uγ and t → ug in a model-independent way using the effective Lagrangian approach. It is found that Br (t → uγ) < 4 × 10-4 and Br (t → ug) < 2 × 10-3, which may still be within reach of the LHC collider.

The decay process H→γγ is examined in a model-independent way within the effective Lagrangian approach. Contribution of a set of irreducible one-loop diagrams involving SU (2)× U (1) invariant dimension-six bosonic operators is evaluated explicitly. The calculation is intended to fill the gap that exists in the current literature on the subject.

Abstract The NA62 experiment at the CERN SPS reports a study of a sample of 4 × 109 tagged π0 mesons from K+ → π+π0(γ), searching for the decay of the π0 to invisible particles. No signal is observed in excess of the expected background fluctuations. An upper limit of 4.4 × 10−9 is set on the branching ratio at 90% confidence level, improving on previous results by a factor of 60. This result can also be interpreted as a model- independent upper limit on the branching ratio for the decay K+ → π+X, where X is a particle escaping detection with mass in the range 0.110–0.155 GeV/c2 and rest lifetime greater than 100 ps. Model-dependent upper limits are obtained assuming X to be an axion-like particle with dominant fermion couplings or a dark scalar mixing with the Standard Model Higgs boson.

Using the effective Lagrangian formalism, the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau-lepton in the [Formula: see text] process are investigated with the future muon collider where [Formula: see text], 3 and 6 TeV. In addition, the bounds at the 95% confidence level on the dipole moments of the tau-lepton are estimated using different integrated luminosities. It is shown that the [Formula: see text] process leads to a remarkable improvement in the existing experimental bounds on the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau-lepton [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] at 95% C.L. for [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text].
