We will consider multiplication operators on a Hilbert space of analytic functions on a domainΩ⊂C. For a bounded analytic functionφonΩ, we will give necessary and sufficient conditions under which the complement of the essential spectrum ofMφinφΩbecomes nonempty and this gives conditions for the adjoint of the multiplication operatorMφbelongs to the Cowen-Douglas class of operators. Also, we characterize the structure of the essential spectrum of a multiplication operator and we determine the commutants of certain multiplication operators. Finally, we investigate the reflexivity of a Cowen-Douglas class operator.

A bounded linear operatorTon a Hilbert spaceℋ, satisfying‖T2h‖2+‖h‖2≥2‖Th‖2for everyh∈ℋ, is called a convex operator. In this paper, we give necessary and sufficient conditions under which a convex composition operator on a large class of weighted Hardy spaces is an isometry. Also, we discuss convexity of multiplication operators.

We give sufficient conditions under which a weighted composition operator on a Hilbert space of analytic functions is not weakly supercyclic. Also, we give some necessary and sufficient conditions for hypercyclicity and supercyclicity of weighted composition operators on the space of analytic functions on the open unit disc.

For a nondecreasing functionK:[0,8)?[0,8)and0<p<8,-2<q<8, we introduceQK(p,q), aQKtype space of functions analytic in the unit disk and study the characterizations ofQK(p,q). Necessary and sufficient conditions onKsuch thatQK(p,q)become some known spaces are given.

In [6] Conway and Morrell characterized those operators on Hilbert space that are points of continuity of the spectrum. They also gave necessary and sufficient conditions that a biquasitriangular operator be a point of spectral continuity. Our point of view in this note is slightly different. Given a point T of spectral continuity, we ask what can then be inferred. Several of our results deal with invariant subspaces. We also give some conditions characterizing a biquasitriangular point of spectral continuity (Theorem 3). One of these is that the operator and its adjoint both have the single-valued extension property.

LetH(𝔻)be the space of analytic functions on𝔻andu∈H(𝔻). The boundedness and compactness of the multiplication operatorMufromF(p,q,s),(or  F0(p,q,s))spaces tonth weighted-type spaces on the unit disk are investigated in this paper.

The main object of this paper is to find necessary and sufficient conditions for the Poisson distribution series to be in a general class of analytic functions with negative coefficients. Further, we consider an integral operator related to the Poisson distribution series to be in this class. A number of known or new results are shown to follow upon specializing the parameters involved in our main results.

In this paper we investigate analytic functions of unbounded type on a complex infinite dimensional Banach space X. The main question is: under which conditions is there an analytic function of unbounded type on X such that its Taylor polynomials are in prescribed subspaces of polynomials? We obtain some sufficient conditions for a function f to be of unbounded type and show that there are various subalgebras of polynomials that support analytic functions of unbounded type. In particular, some examples of symmetric analytic functions of unbounded type are constructed.

Abstract Necessary and sufficient conditions for commutativity of two projections in Hilbert space are given through properties of so-called conditional connectives which are derived from the conditional probability operator PQP. This approach unifies most of the known proofs, provides a few new criteria, and permits certain suggestive interpretations for compound properties of quantum-mechanical systems.
