The calcifying odontogenic cyst (COC) is a benign odontogenic cyst that occurs in the gnathic bones. This cyst is part of a spectrum of lesions characterized by odontogenic epithelium containing “ghost cells,” which may undergo calcification. Areas of an eosinophilic matrix material compatible dentinoid also may present adjacent to the epithelial component. However, these areas of dentinoid commonly do not appear so abundant in COCs. In this study, we report a case of intraosseous COC with extensive areas of dentinoid and perform an update regarding the clinical, radiographical, histopathological, and differential diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of this cystic lesion.

The case presented details an uncommon case of subglottic tracheal stenosis exacerbated by pregnancy. We outine the multidisciplinary management involved and the outcomes for the pregnancy. The case serves as a reminder that shortness of breath in pregnancy has a broad differential diagnosis, and stridor is always abnormal.

A calcifying odontogenic cyst may be associated with odontogenic tumors, particularly odontomas. However, the association between calcifying odontogenic cysts and odontogenic cysts is rare. This study aims to report the first case of a calcifying odontogenic cyst associated with an antral pseudocyst. A male patient presented a tumor lesion in his right maxillary alveolar ridge with 6 months of evolution and painful symptoms . An excisional biopsy was performed, and a histopathological diagnosis of calcifying odontogenic cyst associated with an antral pseudocyst was issued. The treatment of choice was lesion enucleation and curettage. The patient has been under follow-up for about 3 years without lesion recurrence, which is typical indolent calcifying odontogenic cyst behavior.

The use of the contrast agent SonoVue has been allowed in Russia since June 2014. Since then, russian experts have been accumulating their own experience in the contrast agent application for various diseases. The analysis of the obtained data showed that, besides the typical characteristics of the lesions enhancement, described in the literature, there can be atypical cases due to various causes (longterm course of the disease, co-morbidity). We present a clinical case of pancreas cystic lesion in female patient, that was misunderstood as a cystic tumor preoperatively. Considering the epithelial lining nature, absence of the accurate signs of the presence of an ovarian-like stroma, and also the significant secondary changes in the cystic wall such as hyalinosis, cholesterol deposits and macrophage accumulations, the lesion was interpreted as a long-standing pancreatic retention cyst with secondary changes by a morphological study. The features of the enhancement patterns of this lesion can be explained by the presence of significant secondary changes in the wall of cyst, that was first diagnosed in this patient 10 years ago.
