<span>Academic performance of students has been a concern worldwide. Despite efforts made by educational institutions there has been a rise in poor academic performance. In our research study we have proposed a model to pre-determine the academic performance of students using a Radial Basis Function network (RBFN) using primary data. The proposed model has been developed by using algorithms like differential evolution (DE) and teaching learning based optimization (TLBO). This model can be used by academic institutions to identify the academically weaker students and take preventive steps to reduce the number of academic failures.</span>

Quality education and career of the students is the primary goal of higher educational institutions. One method to achieve this is through on-campus and off-campus placements, wherein the students and educational institutions surpasses the ambition of the students as it is not clearly defined, which leads to interest killing and lack of passion at workplace in future. In this paper, engineering students’ data is analysed to present a behavioural model of students’ aspirations. The proposed model is for analysing the factors such as demographics, gender, academic performance and curriculum awareness that regulate the students’ behaviour on focussing on their ambition. The framework can be applied to extract valuable inferences that shows the impact of various parameters on students behaviour which can be of great help to institutions to guide and counsel the students.

The key objectives of current empirical research study to examines the Factors making the change in the current academic performance of business students at the University level as a mediators role of Curriculum, English competency, Students Facilities, Faculty quality and Fee Remission. For this key purpose, primary data was collected by respondents via self-administrative questionnaire. Following econometric models have entertained to expose actual phenomenon: Reliability test was taken to test the consistency among the questions; descriptive statistics were used to determine the data visualizing and data normality; a correlation matrix was applied to quantify individual significance; the linear regression model was used to examine the per-unit and overall volatility in the model; mediation regression test was used for diagnosing the mediation effect and sobal test was used for robustness check of the mediation effect. The result indicates that the previous academic performance of students and the current academic performance of students have positively associated. Moreover, the consequences have acknowledged that the partially mediation effect of curriculum, English competency, Student facilities, Faculty quality and fee remission. This research study will be supported to the university administration for creating novel-legislation concerning uplift the academic performance of students.

The recent outbreak of COVID-19 has tremendously affected every aspect of global structures with its fast and lethal reach. Originating from Wuhan, a Chinese city, this highly infectious virus has forced to impose nationwide closures in many countries impacting onsite educational systems to shut down. Considering the safety of students and following other infected countries, the Bangladesh government has closed all the educational institutions until further notice. Although online teaching-learning is promoted for educators and students to streamline their educational activities from home, it has several drawbacks from different perspectives. Post pandemic scenarios in higher-level education system pose some questions and doubts which requires scholarly works for a thorough investigation. To analyze these scenarios and describe the trends towards effective teaching-learning, in this research work, we have proposed a model by interviewing students from the university level. Our proposed Model provides some rationale and guidelines for its post-pandemic implementation in the higher-level education system in Bangladesh.

A modeling for dynamic multi-objective power dispatch considering load and wind power variations in wind power integrated system is presented. To deal with the random variables, probabilistic sequence theory is introduced and the operational space is extended. To solve the problem, an improved multi-objective teaching-learning-based optimization algorithm is proposed. Finally, the proposed model and algorithm are tested on a 10-units system including wind farm and the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed model and algorithm are feasible and effective.

This paper proposes a multiinput and multioutput (MIMO) quasi-autoregressive eXogenous (ARX) model and a multivariable-decoupling proportional integral differential (PID) controller for MIMO nonlinear systems based on the proposed model. The proposed MIMO quasi-ARX model improves the performance of ordinary quasi-ARX model. The proposed controller consists of a traditional PID controller with a decoupling compensator and a feed-forward compensator for the nonlinear dynamics based on the MIMO quasi-ARX model. Then an adaptive control algorithm is presented using the MIMO quasi-ARX radial basis function network (RBFN) prediction model and some stability analysis of control system is shown. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

Dynamic economic dispatch problem (DEDP) for a multiple fuel power plant is a nonlinear and nonsmooth optimization problem when valve-point effects, multifuel effects, and ramp-rate limits are considered. Additionally wind energy is also integrated with the DEDP to supply the load for effective utilization of the renewable energy. Since the wind power may not be predicted, a radial basis function network (RBFN) is presented to forecast a one-hour-ahead wind power to plan and ensure a reliable power supply. In this paper, a refined teaching-learning based optimization (TLBO) is applied to minimize the overall cost of operation of wind-thermal power system. The TLBO is refined by integrating the sequential quadratic programming (SQP) method to fine-tune the better solutions whenever discovered by the former method. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed hybrid TLBO-SQP method, a standard DEDP and one practical DEDP with wind power forecasted are tested based on the practical information of wind speed. Simulation results validate the proposed methodology which is reasonable by ensuring quality solution throughout the scheduling horizon for secure operation of the system.

The main emphasis of this research study is to examine that how online video advertisement can lead to consumer online purchase intention of beauty and healthcare products in KSA while customer satisfaction will be assessed as a mediator between online video advertising and customer purchase intention. The nature of the research study is quantitative, and a correlational design has been selected for the study. Primary data was collected from a sample of 452 people who buy beauty and health care products online in major cities of Saudi Arabia. SPSS and Smart PLS are used to run different statistical techniques to test the proposed model. The results of the study shows that online video advertisements positively impacts customer satisfaction which in turn positively affects intentions of customers to buy online; also, gender, age, and profession act differently as a moderator in developing online shopping intention of beauty and healthcare products.
