Stygomomonia (S.) manchurica sp. n. (Acari: Hydrachnidia: Momoniidae) from the Kedrovaya River, Primory Territory of the Russian Far East is described. The affinity of the new species to its congeners is discussed with emphasis on biogeographical relationships. An annotated checklist of the subgenus Stygomomonia and geographical map of the distribution of Palaearctic species of this subgenus is compiled using published records.

Adult and larval characters are illustrated. Elephantomyia (E.) hallasanasp. nov. is the only species of the genus Elephantomyia Osten Sacken, 1860 recorded from Jeju Island, South Korea. Habitat, elevation range, and seasonality data are presented. Distributional notes on E. subterminalis Alexander, 1954 in the Far East of Russia (Khabarovskiy and Primorskiy regions) are discussed. An identification key for all Eastern Palaearctic species of subgenus E. (Elephantomyia) is presented.

The insect fauna of Mongolia includes about 12,000 species belonging to 24 orders. The only order, Orthoptera, is richer in species in Mongolia than in the Far East of Russia. All other units show greater diversity in the Russian Far East than in Mongolia. There are a significant number of very interesting endemics. Tizanuras of the family Machilidae are relic insects, represented by five species in Mongolia. As examples of widespread Central Asian insects, a number of species of darkling beetles and weevils can be indicated, most of which are endemic to Mongolia or Central Asia.

Polycheria acercaudasp. nov., an amphipod symbiotic with sponges and ascidians in Korean waters, is established herein as a new species, along with a detailed description and illustrations. This new species is closely related to the following three known species of the genus from the Far East:Polycheria amakusaensisHirayama, 1984,P. japonicaBulycheva, 1952, andP. orientalisHirayama, 1984. However,Polycheria acercaudasp. nov. can be distinguished from the other congeners by the following combination of characteristics: (1) on antenna 2, the anterior margin of peduncular article 4 is pubescent; (2) on gnathopod 2, the palm is clearly distinct; (3) on uropod 3, the inner ramus is lined with plumose setae; and (4) on the telson, the apices are acute. This is the first report of the genusPolycheriaHaswell, 1879 belonging to the family Dexaminidae Leach, 1814 from Korean waters.

Two new species of caddisflies, Lype lubaretsi n. sp. (Psychomyiidae) and Molanna byssa n. sp. (Molannidae), are described and illustrated from Amurskaya Oblast, the Far East of Russia. Six species of caddisflies: Stenopsyche coreana (Kuwayama 1930) (Stenopsychidae), Psychomyiella cruciata Kumanski 1992 (Psychomyiidae), Brachypsyche schmidi Choe, Kumanski and Woo 1999 (Limnephilidae), Adicella longiramosa Yang and Morse 2000, Athripsodes ceracleoides Kumanski 1991 and Leptocerus biwae (Tsuda 1942) (Leptoceridae) are new records for the Russian caddisfly fauna. In addition, the male of A. longiramosa is reillustrated in light of the newly collected material and compared with the original description.
