In laboratory classes on invertebrate zoology for first-year students of the Biology and Ecology Faculty of the Y. Kupala Grodno State University current control of knowledge in a test form is carried out. The number of questions in the task is 11–20, 5– 10 minutes for execution are allotted, one, two or more correct answers are selected from the proposed options. For each correct answer, a point is set; for erroneous answers, penalty points are entered. The regular use of test control increased the level of students' assimilation of educational material and optimized the current control of knowledge.

The seasonal dynamics of cicadas (Hemiptera: Cicadina) has been investigated at five model locations of Tigireksky Nature Reserve (Altai Krai). 65 cicada species of 43 genera and 5 families have been identified. Two association clusters have been built: aestival and late-summer/autumnal. The maximum abundance for the families Cicadellidae and Membracidae was observed during latesummer/ autumnal period (early September and late July, respectively).

With the ongoing anthropogenic eutrophication of the Lake Baikal there is an increase in the abundance not only of aquatic vegetation, but also organismsconsumers. As consumers of vegetable detritus are crustaceans – amphipods, which, by eating detritus, partially reduce the pollution of the lake with rotting organic matter. A significant increase in their number is evidenced by the increase in the abundance of amphipods in the nocturnal migratory complex in the coastal pelagic zone.

In this article we studied the conditions for keeping two species of gregarious locusts: the African migratory locust (Locusta migratoria migratorioides) and the Asian migratory locust (Locusta migratoria migratoria) in open and shaded areas. Based on the data obtained, it is shown that the survival rate of insects of the non-diapausal subspecies was higher in comparison with the obligate monovoltine.

Infection of the fish with trematode metacercariae of the genus Posthodiplostomum in rivers in the southern regions of the Tomsk region are presented. In this study it was shown that the abundance trematode metacercariae of the genus Posthodiplostomum is statistically significantly higher in fish in the Ob river in comparison with the Tom river. The assumption is put forward that the appearance of this parasite on the territory of the Tomsk Region is associated with the expansion to the north of the area of the gray heron Area cinereal, which is the final host of trematodes of the genus Posthodiplostomum.

The insect fauna of Mongolia includes about 12,000 species belonging to 24 orders. The only order, Orthoptera, is richer in species in Mongolia than in the Far East of Russia. All other units show greater diversity in the Russian Far East than in Mongolia. There are a significant number of very interesting endemics. Tizanuras of the family Machilidae are relic insects, represented by five species in Mongolia. As examples of widespread Central Asian insects, a number of species of darkling beetles and weevils can be indicated, most of which are endemic to Mongolia or Central Asia.

The species composition of nematodes and their vectors were analyzed in the Tomsk region. It has been shown that all three species of malaria mosquitoes, Anopheles messeae s.s., An. daciae and An. beklemishevi, can transmit Dirofilaria repens in 89% of confirmed cases. The species-specific infection of the intermediate host with dirofilarias depends on the geographical location.
