A new species of crane fly (Diptera, Limoniidae), Elephantomyia (Elephantomyia) hallasana Podenas & Podeniene, sp. nov., from Jeju Island, South Korea is described. Adult and larval characters are illustrated. Elephantomyia (E.) hallasanasp. nov. is the only species of the genus Elephantomyia Osten Sacken, 1860 recorded from Jeju Island, South Korea. Habitat, elevation range, and seasonality data are presented. Distributional notes on E. subterminalis Alexander, 1954 in the Far East of Russia (Khabarovskiy and Primorskiy regions) are discussed. An identification key for all Eastern Palaearctic species of subgenus E. (Elephantomyia) is presented.

Stygomomonia (S.) manchurica sp. n. (Acari: Hydrachnidia: Momoniidae) from the Kedrovaya River, Primory Territory of the Russian Far East is described. The affinity of the new species to its congeners is discussed with emphasis on biogeographical relationships. An annotated checklist of the subgenus Stygomomonia and geographical map of the distribution of Palaearctic species of this subgenus is compiled using published records.

Polycheria acercaudasp. nov., an amphipod symbiotic with sponges and ascidians in Korean waters, is established herein as a new species, along with a detailed description and illustrations. This new species is closely related to the following three known species of the genus from the Far East:Polycheria amakusaensisHirayama, 1984,P. japonicaBulycheva, 1952, andP. orientalisHirayama, 1984. However,Polycheria acercaudasp. nov. can be distinguished from the other congeners by the following combination of characteristics: (1) on antenna 2, the anterior margin of peduncular article 4 is pubescent; (2) on gnathopod 2, the palm is clearly distinct; (3) on uropod 3, the inner ramus is lined with plumose setae; and (4) on the telson, the apices are acute. This is the first report of the genusPolycheriaHaswell, 1879 belonging to the family Dexaminidae Leach, 1814 from Korean waters.

We describe a new mite species from the Far East of Russia—Proctogastrolaelaps subsolanus Joharchi & Marchenko sp. nov. (Acari: Melicharidae). The new species was collected from soil-litter on the shores of the Tunaycha Lake and Sea of Okhotsk in Sakhalin Island. The important morphological characteristics of the genus Proctogastrolaelaps are revised.

A new Palaearctic species of the genus Ilyocryptus Sars, 1862 (Cladocera: Anomopoda: Ilyocryptidae) is described basedon samples from Republic of Korea, Japan, and the Far East of Russia. This taxon was mis-identified by some previousauthors as I. agilis Kurz, 1878. Among the agilis-like species sensu Kotov & Elías-Gutiérrez (2009), I. yooni sp.nov. isunique in absence of any setules or denticles near preanal teeth on the postabdomen. It also differs from its closest relativeI. agilis s.str. in (1) a more sharp dorsal keel; (2) short setae at postero-ventral portion of valve; (3) a long abdominalprojection; (4) presence of spinules on internal wall of anus; (5) shorter antenna I; (6) distal burrowing spine not projectedbehind distal end on basal segment of antenna II; (7) spine on proximal segment of antennal exopod not longer than thenext segment; (8) setae at bases of the flap at inner-distal portion of limb III of different size and armature. Apparently I. yooni sp. nov. is a member of the Far East endemic species complex, recently defined by Kotov et al. (2011, 2012).

Arisubathynella gen. nov. is established for a new species, A. cheongmiensis sp. nov. from South Korea. An illustrated description is given. The new genus stands out in the family Parabathynellidae by six-segmented antennules, three-segmented antenna without medial seta on inner margin of third segment, absence of mandibulartooth of the ventral edge, bare proximal segment of maxilla, two-segmented exopods of thoracopods II-VII, and male thoracopod VIII with elongated external lobe. Arisubathynella gen. nov. is the fourth genus known from South Korea and foreshadows the great diversity of bathynellaceans in the Far East.
