A new species of Phrixosoma from Tanzania is described and illustrated. This is a unique species for the genus in havinga strongly concave female frons. Several characters are described for the first time for this genus, including male andfemale genitalia, mouthparts, thoracic sutures, and several overlooked features of the mesoand metatibiae and sternal processes.

ABSTRACTThe skull anatomy of a new species of the phytosaurMachaeroprosopusis described for the first time on the basis of two specimens from the Upper Triassic Cooper Canyon Formation of Texas. Additional information is provided by a third specimen referred toMachaeroprosopussp. A paranasal bone, an additional paired element of the narial region, is identified. Important new data are presented for the braincase, including the morphology of the epipterygoid and presphenoid, an anterior process of the prootic, an anteroventral process of the laterosphenoid, and a parasphenoid process.Machaeroprosopus lottorumn. sp. is characterised by four apomorphies: a supratemporal fenestra closed on the skull roof with bevelled anterior rim, a comparatively short squamosal, a flat and rugose narial rim, and medially extended palatines that come close to form an ossified secondary palate. With respect to the supratemporal fenestra, the supraoccipital–parietal complex and several features of the squamosal,Machaeroprosopus lottorumn. sp. bridges the morphological gap between species previously referred to the generaPseudopalatusandRedondasaurus. A parsimony analysis of known species ofMachaeroprosopussupports the hypothesis that the development of the rostral crest inMachaeroprosopusis a sexually dimorphic feature, and questions the validity of the genusRedondasaurus. Consequently,Redondasaurusis here considered a junior synonym ofMachaeroprosopus.

AbstractSexual dimorphism among members of the Thysanoptera suborder Terebrantia is discussed, and compared briefly with intraspecific variation in the suborder Tubulifera. Sexual differences in adult thrips involve size and colour, antennal structure and sensoria, and structure of the abdomen. The previously unknown male of Aroidothrips longistylus Ananthakrishnan (Thripidae) from India is described with the longest antennal sensoria known in any thrips species, and a related sexually dimorphic Malaysian species is described, Filipinothrips ananthakrishnani sp. n. In the Aeolothripidae, the male of Franklinothrips vespiformis (Crawford) is described for the first time and newly recorded from India, and differences between the sexes of Indothrips bhushani Bhatti are described. The lack of information on the development and biological significance of sexual dimorphism in terebrantiate thrips is emphasised.

The small Microgastrinae genus Venanides is recorded from Europe (Netherlands, Germany and Czech Republic) for the first time, where one species, Venanides carcinae sp. nov., described here, proves to be a regular solitary parasitoid of Carcina quercana. Outline notes on its biology, phenology and abundance are given.

The oribatid mite subgenus Scheloribates (Topobates) Grandjean, 1958, is recorded from the Neotropical region for the first time. A new species of this subgenus is described from the leaf litter collected in Cayo Agua Island, Panama. Scheloribates (Topobates) panamaensis sp. nov. differs from its related species by the very large body size and presence of a strong ventrodistal process on the leg femora II–IV.

The Palaearctic species of the genus Trichardis Hermann, 1906 are reviewed. A new species, T. lehri sp. nov., is described. A new synonymy is established: T. leucocoma (van der Wulp, 1899) = T. afanasievae Lehr, 1964, syn. nov. The male of T. mongolica V. Richter, 1972 is described for the first time. External features and the male genitalia of T. lehri sp. nov., T. leucocoma (van der Wulp, 1899) and T. mongolica V. Richter, 1972 are illustrated with photographs.

A review of species of the genus Blera Billberg, 1820 known from China is given. A new species, Blera longiseta sp. nov., is described. Three species, B. japonica (Shiraki, 1930), B. nitens (Stackelberg, 1923) and B. violovitshi Mutin, 1991, are recorded for the first time from China. An illustrated key to species is provided.

Two braconid genera from the subfamily Alysiinae, Lodbrokia Hedqvist, 1962 and Asyntactus Marshall, 1898, are recorded in the fauna of Russia and in the Asian continent for the first time. A new species Lodbrokia uralica sp. nov. is described from the Urals, and a key to species of this genus is provided. Redescriptions of the female and male of Asyntactus rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 with information about the level of variability of its morphological characters are given. Asyntactus sigalphoides Marshall, 1898 is synonymised with A. rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 (syn. nov.).

The subfamily Lypusinae of Korea is reviewed with three species including a new species, Agnoea danguni Sohn, sp. nov. belonging to nominotypical subgenus, and two species of Agnoea belonging to the subgenus Tubuliferodes Toll, 1956: A. (T.) digitiella Kim, 2020 and A. (T.) josephinae (Toll, 1956). The female characters of A. digitiella are described for the first time. Additional collecting records are provided for A. digitiella and A. josephinae. Photographs of the habitus and the genitalia are provided for all three species of Agnoea known so far from Korea.
