The genus Leucopholis Dejean, 1833 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Melolonthinae: Leucopholini) is reviewed for the species from the Philippines. Five species of Leucopholis occur in the Philippines, including one new species. Keys to the genera of Leucopholini and to the species of Leucopholis in the Philippines are provided.

Five Sinopoda species in the okinawana-group including one new species from central and south-western China are treated in the current paper: S. cochlearia Zhang, Zhang & Zhang, 2015, S. fasciculata Jäger, Gao & Fei, 2002, S. guangyuanensis sp. nov., S. hamata (Fox, 1937) and S. wangi Song & Zhu, 1999. The female of S. fasciculata is described for the first time. New province records are provided as well as photos of copulatory organs and habitus.

The genera Hoplopisthius and Carcinopisthius are reviewed. All the species are redescribed and illustrated and an updated identification key and distributional maps are provided. One new species from New Guinea is described (Hoplopisthius maximus n. sp.) and two new synonymies are proposed: Hoplopisthius celebensis Kolbe, 1892 = H. trichemerus Senna, 1892, n. syn. and Carcinopisthius lamingtoni Damoiseau, 1987 = C. forcipitiger Damoiseau, 1987, n. syn. Phylogenetic analysis using PAUP (maximum parsimony) was performed using 25 morphological characters of adults. This analysis shows the group Hoplopisthius + Carcinopisthius is monophyletic, but Carcinopisthius alone is paraphyletic. Nomenclatural changes at the generic level are made to reconcile nomenclature and phylogeny: Hoplopisthius is preserved; Carcinopisthius is downgraded to the rank of subgenus for the two oriental species H. oberthueri and H. fruhstorferi; and Pseudotaphroderes is resurrected as a third subgenus and includes all New-Guinean and Australian species.

The genera Boonea Robertson, 1978, Chrysallida Carpenter, 1856, Fargoa Bartsch, 1909, Ivara Dall & Bartsch, 1903, Mumiola A. Adams, 1863, Odostomella Bucquoy, Dautzenberg & Dollfus, 1883, Parthenina Bucquoy, Dautzenberg & Dollfus, 1883 and Trabecula Dall & Bartsch, 1909 from Brazil are reviewed. Boonea jadisi (Olsson & McGinty, 1958), Boonea seminuda (C. B. Adams, 1839), Chrysallida gemmulosa C. B. Adams, 1850, Ivara terryi (Olsson & McGinty, 1958), Fargoa bushiana Bartsch, 1909, Mumiola gradatula (Mörch, 1876) and Odostomella carceralis Pimenta, Absalão & Alencar, 2000 are confirmed to occur in Brazil. We also present the first records of Parthenina varia (Odé, 1993), Odostomella fonteini (Jong & Coomans, 1988) and Trabecula krumpermanni (Jong & Coomans, 1988) from the region, all, new combinations. Two species, previously reported from the Brazilian coast, could not be confirmed: Boonea bisuturalis (Say, 1822) and Boonea impressa (Say, 1822). Odostomella cf. doliolum (Philippi, 1844) and Parthenina cf. interspatiosa (Linden & Eikenboom, 1992), originally described from the eastern Atlantic, are here recorded from Brazil, although their status remains dubious because of lack of information on their biology and due to lack of morphological and molecular data. One new species is described: Boonea scymnocelata, which can be distinguished from the similar species B. seminuda by its smaller size and immersed protoconch, with no visible nucleus.

The genus Frisilia Walker of the world is reviewed, with all of the 31 known species including two new species, F. cornualis sp. nov. and F. nesiotes sp. nov. The genus can be divided into the nesciatella and the anningensis species groups, on basis of the presence or absence of a median process of the juxta in the male genitalia. For all of the known species, we provide photos of adults and their male or female genitalia, all available taxonomic information including original references, type localities, type depositories, sources of available specimens, geographical distributions, and some recently collected data of the species. Frisilia striapunctata Wu is transferred to the genus Homaloxestis Meyrick, due to the normal slender labial palpus of the male and its wing venation. Frisilia drimyba Diakonoff (1967), known from the Philippines, is excluded from the genus Frisilia because of its lanceolate forewing with sharply pointed apex.

The oribatid mite genus Sadocepheus Aoki, 1965 is recorded for the first time from the Philippines; one new species is described from the leaf litter of secondary forest in Mindanao Island. Sadocepheus donvictorianoensis Ermilov & Corpuz-Raros sp. nov. differs from the most similar species, S. elevatus Mahunka, 1987 by the larger body size, long medial and short lateral teeth of the lamellae and shorter adanal setae. Revised generic diagnosis and the data on distribution and ecology of Sadocepheus species are presented.

The taxonomy of Old World Trigonidiinae (sword-tailed crickets) is in need of major revision. This includes its type genus Trigonidium. Various authors have different opinions on what constitutes the subgenera and species of Trigonidium s. l. and this has led to considerable confusion and inconsistencies. Recent use of molecular data has helped make some progress in resolving some of these problems, but there are still limitations. In this paper, we aim to provide a baseline to resolve the confusion in the taxonomy of Trigonidium s. l. Firstly, we provide a literature review of the contentious taxa related to Trigonidium and also provide some recommendations on future work for Trigonidium s. l. Secondly, we reanalysed the gene tree (sensu Lu et al., 2018) using more DNA sequences from GenBank to test whether Trigonidium s. str. and Paratrigonidium should be considered separate genera or subgenera of Trigonidium s. l. However, the gene tree based on current data was not conclusive. Lastly, we describe a new species of Trigonidium s. str. from Siargao Island, Mindanao (Philippines): Trigonidium solis sp. nov.
