Three new species, Platyderus casalei new species (type locality: Santa Eufemia, Calabria Region), Platyderus paganettii new species (type locality: Santa Eufemia, Calabria Region) and Platyderus vignai new species (type locality: Gargano Mountain, Apulia Region) are described. The diagnostic characters of the new taxa are defined and figures of the male genitalia are depicted. The synonymy of Platyderus neapolitanus (Reiche, 1855) and Platyderus canaliculatus jannonei Binaghi, 1955 is confirmed. Platyderus dalmatinus is treated as doubtful for the fauna of Italy. A key of the five Italian species of Platyderus from the South Apennines is included.

Two new species of Bibloplectus Reitter, 1881 are described from the Orlando Park Collection of Pselaphinae at the FMNH (Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago, IL, USA): Bibloplectus silvestris Owens and Carlton, new species (type locality, Urbana, IL, USA) and Bibloplectus wingi Owens and Carlton, new species (type locality, Shades State Park, IN, USA). Types of these new species were part of a series of specimens bearing unpublished Park manuscript names in both the pinned and slide collection at the FMNH. They bring the total number of species in the genus in eastern North America to twenty-three. Resolving these manuscript names adds to previous efforts to uncover elements of the hidden diversity of North American Bibloplectus from museum collections (Owens and Carlton 2016, Owens and Carlton 2017) and highlights the importance of close examination of the Orlando Park pselaphine collection as a valuable historic and taxonomic resource.

This paper describes three distinctive, closely related, new genera and four species of Homalotini (Aleocharinae: Staphylinidae) characterized by extremely long slender, curved mandibles, very long slender and whip-like setae variously placed on the labrum, clypeus, or mentum; and similarities in the mouthparts, aedeagi and spermathecae. These new taxa are Eumecognathus new genus, type species E. tasmaniensis new species (type locality: SW Tasmania, Lower Gordon River); Siagotanyx new genus, type species S. rufa new species (type locality: Tasmania, Lake St. Claire National Park) and Drepanomastax new genus, type species D. splendida new species (type locality: Australian National Territory, Mt. Ainslie). Also described is D. nitida new species (type

Hechtia gypsophila and H. minuta, two new species from Oaxaca, Mexico are described and illustrated. The proposed species are compared with H. pumila, taxon that present some similarities and also with other species that grow near the type localities of the two new taxa proposed. Images and a distribution map of all taxa are included.
