A recent taxonomic study revealed that specimens so far identified as Apatelodes satellitia (Walker, 1855) are in fact representatives of a complex of cryptic species. A new genus was established to hold this complex of species, namely Pantelodes Herbin, 2017. Here we describe a new species of Pantelodes from Southern Bahia Atlantic Forest based on morphological and molecular characters. Pantelodes camacana Orlandin & Carneiro sp. nov. is compared with other Pantelodes species and their phylogenetic relationships are discussed.

The greater wax moth, Galleria mellonella Linnaeus, is well known as a pest of honey bees and for the biodegradation of wax and polyethylene by their larvae. The genus Galleria has long been considered monotypic and found worldwide. A taxonomic study of the genus Galleria is presented based on morphological and molecular characters (COI, CAD, wg). A new species (Galleria similis Roh & Song, sp. nov.) is recognized on the Korean peninsula. The new species is superficially similar to G. mellonella but they can be separated by the structures of hindwing venation and male genitalia. Habitus photographs and illustrations of diagnostic characters are provided.

Kielmeyera ferruginosa, a new species of Calophyllaceae from the Atlantic Forest of southern Bahia, is here described and illustrated. The species is critically endangered and can be easily distinguished from other Kielmeyera species by the rusty coloration of the trunk and branches, orange-colored latex, and the occurrence in flooded areas. It differs from the other species of the section Prolifera by the leaves with secondary veins relatively more distant from each other and prominent on the abaxial surface. Diagnostic characters and the state of conservation of the new species are discussed, and an identification key for K. ferruginosa and related species from series Rupestres and Neglectae is provided.

Tocoyena atlantica, a new species endemic to southern Bahia and northern Espírito Santo states, Brazil, is here described and illustrated. The species consists of trees 5−8 m tall; with petioles 2−5 cm long, and leaf blades 7.4−24.5 × 2.5−9.1 cm, elliptic, adaxially glabrous; calyces cup-shaped with triangular lobes; corolla yellow during anthesis, with tube gradually wider towards the mouth; and laterally compressed hypanthia. Based on IUCN criteria, we consider T. atlantica endangered, with three collection localities within the Atlantic Forest domain. An identification key for species of Tocoyena occurring in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest is also provided.

We describe a new species of Phyllodytes from Ilhéus (15º04’S, 39º03’W; 95 m above sea level), south of state of Bahia, in the northeastern Atlantic Forest of Brazil. Phyllodytes megatympanum sp. nov. is diagnosable by the following combination of characters: (1) dorsum of body, arms, and legs uniformly light brown; (2) groin yellow; (3) snout pointed in dorsal view, protruding in profile; (4) tympanum large with a round distinct tympanic annulus; (5) adult males with two anterior large odontoids followed by a series of smaller odontoids on each side of the mandible; (6) well-developed tubercle near tibio-tarsal joint; (7) advertisement call composed of a series of 12 to 19 unpulsed notes, with harmonic structure and (8) mean dominant frequency of 3.98 kHz.

The Holarctic genus Agonochaetia is reviewed and a new species, Agonochaetia shawinigan Landry, sp. nov. is described from Québec, Canada. In addition, a new glandiductor-bearing genus and species, Canarischema fuerteventura Karsholt, gen. nov., sp. nov. is described from the Canary Islands. Comparative diagnoses, a key to species, illustrations of external aspect, male and female genitalia are provided for all species. Most species of Agonochaetia are rarely collected and known only from their types or from very few specimens. DNA barcodes are provided for four of the species from which DNA was recovered. Analysis of DNA barcodes suggests that Agonochaetia may be paraphyletic. Phylogenetic relationships to other Gnorimoschemini genera bearing a pair of glandiductors above the phallus are discussed.

A new species of Aparasphenodon is described from patches of arboreal restinga within the Atlantic Forest Biome, in a region known as Baixo Sul in southern Bahia, northeastern Brazil. Aparasphenodon arapapa sp. nov. is promptly diagnosed from other Aparasphenodon mainly by having small size (male snout-vent length 57.4–58.1 mm), loreal region flattened and wide, and canthus rostralis rounded and poorly elevated. The wide and flattened snout resembles that found in Triprion and Diaglena, and possibly is a parallelism (homoplasy) related to the phragmotic behavior of casque-headed tree frogs to their microhabitat usage. The decision to allocate the new species in the genus Aparasphenodon is discussed in detail, as the single morphological synapomorphy of the genus, the presence of a prenasal bone, is insufficient to morphologically relate the new species to Aparasphenodon, Triprion, or Diaglena.

Tovomita iaspidis, a new species from the Brazilian Atlantic Forest, is described, illustrated, and its morphological affinities with other species and its diagnostic characters are discussed. The new species is similar to Tovomita glazioviana, from which it can be distinguished by having greenish patent petals and larger and reddish pistillode in the staminate flowers. While T. glazioviana is found in the Atlantic Forest in the states of Bahia, Minas Gerais, and Rio de Janeiro, T. iaspidis is so far only known from two small remnant areas of montane forest in southern Bahia State, Brazil.

A new species, Myrcia suberosa, is here proposed based in an ongoing taxonomic revision of Myrcia sect. Eugeniopsis, a group nearly endemic to the Atlantic Forest. Myrcia suberosa occurs in Brazil from Southern Bahia to Southern Rio de Janeiro states, but only three collections are known and the real distribution of the species is barely known. The new species is morphologically related to Myrcia pseudomarlierea and Myrcia teuscheriana, differing by sexual system, cork thickness, indument, and leaf and flower morphologies. Morphological description, images and conservation status are provided, as well as discussion about distribution, habitat, phenology and taxonomy.

Erythroxylum riparium, a new species of Erythroxylaceae from the Brazilian Atlantic Forest, is described and illustrated. The species was found in southern Bahia State growing along river banks within tropical rain forest fragments. It can be distinguished from other similar species of Erythroxylum by the combination of branchlets intensely dotted with elliptic lenticels, these often united with each other, undulate leaf margin, three bracteoles per flower, and partially connate styles. These diagnostic characters and other observations concerning the new species are presented and compared with those from similar species.
