Fragmentation of the genera Boliviela DeLong and Paralidia Nielson is proposed after several new species assigned to them appeared to alter their original generic concepts. Follow up studies of the taxonomic relationship of these and other closely related genera in a genus group (Boliviela, Dicodia Nielson, Gracilidia Nielson, Tinocripus Nielson and Paralidia) supported recognition of four new genera: Collasuyusana, type-species, Boliviela retrorsa Nielson; Ventrolidia, typespecies, Boliviela ortha Nielson; Carinoscapula, type-species, Boliviela bispinata Nielson; and Armaturolidia, type-species, Paralidia denticulata Nielson. Five species are removed from Boliviela and designated new combinations: Ventrolidia ortha (DeLong), Ventrolidia paraortha (Nielson), Carinoscapula sarcula (Nielson), Carinoscapula bispinosa (Nielson) and Collasuyusana retrorsa (Nielson). Two species are removed from Paralidia and designated new combinations: Armaturolidia spinata (Nielson) and Armaturolidia denticulata (Nielson). Godoyana Nielson, type-species Godoyana laselvensis Nielson is suppressed as a junior synonym of Coelidia Germar. This species is assigned to Coelidia and designated new combination: Coelidia laselvensis (Nielson). A key to 9 genera in the genus group is also presented. A data matrix table of diagnostic generic characters is given for the Boliviela genus group. Thirty-nine new species are described and illustrated with a revised key to species in the following genera: Armaturolidia ordocrista, sp. nov.; Boliviela cucurbita, sp. nov.; B. caverna, sp. nov.; B. biungulata, sp. nov.; Coelidia costaricensis, sp. nov.; C. angulata, sp. nov.; Collasuyusana picea, sp. nov.; C. diversa, sp. nov.; C. collaris, sp. nov.; C. spenceri, sp. nov.; C. recurvata, sp. nov.; C. bifurcata, sp. nov.; C. lanceolata, sp. nov.; Dialodia bispinata, sp. nov., D. longilobata, sp. nov., D. brevilobata, sp. nov., D. aviculobata, sp. nov.; D. brevisetacea, sp. nov.; D. bilongata, sp. nov.; Dicodia recurvata, sp. nov.; Evansolidia setacea, sp. nov.; E. inca, sp. nov.; E. unilamina, sp. nov.; E. episetacea, sp. nov.; E. recurvata, sp. nov.; E. gracilitas, sp. nov.; E. lyrata, sp. nov.; E. inflata, sp. nov.; E. fletcheri, sp. nov.; Gracilidia minuta, sp. nov.; G. longiuscula, sp. nov.; G. biflangata, sp. nov.; G. tubercula, sp. nov.; G. uniflangata, sp. nov.; G. membrana, sp. nov.; Omanolidia inflata, sp. nov.; Spinolidia moweri, sp. nov.; Tinocripus angustus, sp. nov. and T. sinuatus, sp. nov. Penthicodes celebica n. sp., is described from Sulawesi, P. warleti n. sp. from India (Assam) and P. caja malayana n. ssp. from peninsular Malaysia. They are compared with the allied species of the subgenus Ereosoma Kirkaldy, 1906, as treated by Nagai & Porion (1996): P. astraea (Stål, 1864), P. atomaria (Weber, 1801) P. bimaculata (Schmidt, 1905), P. caja (Walker, 1851), P. pulchella (Guérin-Méneville, 1838), P. quadrimaculata Lallemand, 1963, P. rugulosa (Stål, 1870) and P. variegata (Guérin-Méneville, 1829). Penthicodes quadrimaculata is removed from synonymy with P. bimaculata. Male genitalia of all treated species are illustrated and described. New geographical records, distribution maps, behaviour data and photographs of habitus are given. An illustrated identification key to all 12 species of the genus, including P. farinosa and P. nicobarica, is proposed. Penthicodes basigera (Walker, 1870) is transferred to the genus Scamandra Stål, 1863 and the new combination Scamandra basigera (Walker, 1870) n. comb. is proposed. The subgenus Ereosoma is regarded as heterogenous and the species are separated in 2 new species-groups on the base of the male genitalia and colour pattern: group astraea+ (astraea, bimaculata, caja, celebica, quadrimaculata, rugulosa and variegata) and group atomaria+ (atomaria, pulchella, warleti).

The concept of the previously monogeneric subfamily Pseudocetherinae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae) is revised and expanded. We here transfer Gerbelius Distant, 1903, Kayanocoris Miller, 1954, Microvarus Jeannel, 1917, Paragerbelius Miller, 1958, and Voconia Stål, 1866 from Reduviinae to Pseudocetherinae and treat Kayanocoris, Microvarus, Paragerbelius, and Pseudocethera Villiers, 1963 as junior synonyms of Voconia, resulting in new combinations for Voconia conradti (Jeannel, 1917) comb. nov., V. ifana (Villiers, 1963) comb. nov., V. monodi (Villiers, 1963) comb. nov., V. motoensis (Schouteden, 1929) comb. nov., V. ornata (Distant, 1903) comb. nov., V. schoutedeni (Villiers, 1964) comb. nov., V. typica (Miller, 1958) comb. nov., and V. wegneri (Miller, 1954) comb. nov. We also describe 23 new species of Voconia: V. bakeri sp. nov., V. bracata sp. nov., V. brachycephala sp. nov., V. chrysoptera sp. nov., V. coronata sp. nov., V. decorata sp. nov., V. dolichocephala sp. nov., V. fasciata sp. nov., V. grandioculata sp. nov., V. hemera sp. nov., V. isosceles sp. nov., V. laosensis sp. nov., V. lasiosoma sp. nov., V. lirophleps sp. nov., V. loki sp. nov., V. mexicana sp. nov., V. minima sp. nov., V. nyx sp. nov., V. smithae sp. nov., V. tridens sp. nov., V. trinidadensis sp. nov., V. tuberculata sp. nov., and V. vittata sp. nov. Lectotypes are designated for Gerbelius confluens Distant, 1903, G. typicus Distant, 1903, V. conradti comb. nov., V. ornata comb. nov., and V. pallidipes Stål, 1866. A revised diagnosis and description of Pseudocetherinae are provided along with photographs of the species and of the male genitalia of 13 pseudocetherine and five closely related reduviine species. An identification key to the two genera of Pseudocetherinae as well as a key to species of Voconia are presented. A phylogenetic hypothesis is proposed for the relationships of Pseudocetherinae using parsimony analyses of 77 morphological characters.
