The monotypic genus Pagelmis Spangler, 1981 was described from six thousand specimens of Pagelmis amazonica Spangler, 1981 collected with blacklight traps in Ecuador. For many years the known distribution of this genus was restricted to its type-locality, and recently it was recorded in Venezuela, Suriname and Brazil (Roraima State). Now, 40 years after the description of the genus, we describe the second Pagelmis species, based on male and female collected in the Amazon forest (Amazonas State, Brazil). With the description of the second species in the genus we provide an emended diagnosis of Pagelmis. Since adults of this genus were previously collected only in light traps, no habitat information was known. We collected adults of the new species in the first- and second-order streams with black, acidic water and sandy streambeds. The main substrates available in these streams were leaves and roots of riparian vegetation.

The monotypic genus Psorus Bergroth is revised and two new species from the Brazilian Amazon region are described and illustrated: P. paraensis sp. nov. (Pará State) and P. manauara sp. nov. (Amazonas State).

A New Species

A new definition for the genus Moribaetis Waltz & McCafferty 1985 is given. Its type species, Moribaetis maculipennis (Flowers 1979) is redescribed based on male and female imagoes reared from larvae near the type locality in Panama. Larvae, formerly wrongly attributed to Moribaetis salvini (Eaton 1885), and a male imago, formerly wrongly attributed to Moribaetis macaferti Waltz 1985, belong to a new species Moribaetis latipennis sp. n., which is described here based on a male imago reared from larva in Panama. Both species, M. maculipennis and M. latipennis sp. n., are distinct from M. salvini, which is known as a single male imago (lectotype) from Costa Rica. All other species, formerly attributed to Moribaetis, are excluded from this genus; a new combination Caribaetis macaferti comb. n. is proposed for the species originally described as Moribaetis macaferti Waltz (in Waltz & McCafferty) 1985, and a new combination Baetis (Rhodobaetis) mimbresaurus comb. n. is proposed for the species originally described as Moribaetis mimbresaurus McCafferty 2007.

Two New Species

We describe here two new species of the genus Phalangopsis Serville, 1831 from the Brazilian Amazon Forest. The male genitalia and the female copulatory papilla were described, and a combination of diagnostic characteristics was given to separate both new species from the other described species. The principal morphological characteristics of this genus were discussed.

A New Species

A new species of Stenomicra is described for the Neotropical Region, from phytotelmata of Araceae at an urban forest fragment in the city of Manaus, state of Amazonas, Brazil. Morphological descriptions of the immatures and the adults (male and female) are provided, together with biological information on the life cycle of the species and its “host” plant.

A New Species

A new species belonging to the previously monotypic genus Panca Evans, 1955, P. moseri Dolibaina, Carneiro & O. Mielke sp. nov., from grasslands areas of Peru, Bolivia and Brazil is described. Adults and male and female genitalia of the new species are illustrated, described in detail, and compared with the type species of the genus, Lerodea subpunctuli Hayward, 1934, and with its externally most similar and sympatric species, Vidius mictra Evans, 1955. The systematic position of the genus Panca and its association with lowland open natural habitats of South America are discussed.

A new monotypic genus of flatid planthoppers (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Flatidae), Selizitapia gen. nov., is described for Selizitapia pennyi gen. et sp. nov. (type species) from the island of Madagascar. Habitus, male and female external and internal genital structures of the new species are illustrated and compared with similar taxa. Selizitapia pennyi gen. et sp. nov. is endemic to Madagascar where it is known to date only from one locality in the Central Plateau and is associated with tapia woodland formation.

Atrypanius jauffreti sp. nov. is described from Brazil (Pará). Nyssodrys grisella Bates, 1864 (currently, Atrypanius grisellus) is synonymized with Lepturges lineatocollis Bates, 1863 (currently, Atrypanius lineatocollis), and the species is recorded for the Brazilian states of Rondônia and Mato Grosso.

In the fourth part of the revision on the Asian Metarbelidae we describe the new genus Tagoria Yakovlev & Zolotuhin, gen. nov. (type species, by original designation: Arbela watsoni Hampson, 1900). The male and female of Tagoria watsoni (Hampson, 1900) comb. nov. are redescribed, the new species Tagoria dierli Yakovlev & Zolotuhin, sp. nov. (type locality: Nepal, Rapti Tal, Monahari Khola, Belwa) is described.

A New Species

A new species, Phytoseius feresi Demite & Cavalcante sp. nov. (Acari: Mesostigmata: Phytoseiidae) is described and illustrated based on adult females. It was found in association with plants in natural vegetation in Itacoatiara, Amazonas state, Brazil. This new species is a member of the purseglovei species group and differs of all other species of this group by possessing all dorsal setae, except Z5, and the ventral seta JV5 smooth. We propose a redefinition of purseglovei species group in order to include the new species. In addition, a key to world species of purseglovei species group is provided.
