This study investigates the integration concerns of next-generation renewable energy systems, in which the grid is turning more disseminate and accessible. In this case, the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) based wind energy conversion systems are expected to be more beneficial. Provision of power quality improvement such as Harmonic Reduction is the basic key to obtain higher utilization of wind energy. This functionality for future systems leads to lower energy cost, and reliable power system. To incorporate the advanced features, a five level cascaded H – bridge inverter, with reduced number of power electronic switches is progressed in this study, that is configured within the renewable source systems such as solar and wind. The study is carried out on a 10 KW PMSG based wind energy conversion system interfaced to grid. The proposed concept is elucidated through modelling, simulating and analysing in MATLAB/Simulink environment.

The natural resources which can be renewed are Renewable energy resources. Due to the increased load demand in recent years demand for renewable energy resources have been increasing and attracting us. If this can be met using the renewable energy resources then it can be harmless to the environment. We opt Wind energy because of its enormous advantages, wind energy has emerged as the most reliable source of electric power, and is economically viable with the conventional sources. Wind energy is one of the most available forms of renewable energy. Loads can be classified based on their distance from the main grid. These can be remote villages, islands, ships, forests, deserts etc. For such loads there should be precise electrification system called as standalone generator system which provides constant nominal voltage and frequency. The Wind Energy Conversion system unit features a wind-turbine-driven Synchronous Generator, a diode bridge rectifier, a boost dc/dc converter, a battery bank, and a PWM dc/ac inverter. In this paper, distribution Generation is based on WECS using Synchronous Generator anticipated with a battery and Rectifier. The topology for the same has been demonstrated using MATLAB Simulink based simulations.

In this paper, an adaptive anti-windup control strategy for permanent magnet synchronous generator dedicated for wind energy conversion systems. The proposed control has the advantage to suppress the performance deterioration caused by the overshooting phenomenon, and optimize the controller gains using the particle swarm optimization algorithm. The scheme of the speed controller is implemented on field orientation control in the generator side converter. A simulation of the proposed scheme is carried out in SIMULINK-MATLAB in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the control against the saturation and the parameter optimization.
