Abstract Background Pleomorphic adenomas are common tumors of major salivary glands. However, the localization in nasal cavity originating from the lateral wall is exceptional. This work is a presentation of a very rare case that presents the diagnostic challenge, considering the multitude of malignant and benign differential diagnosis. A discussion of surgical approach, and the possible complications associated with it. Case presentation This is the case of an invasive nasal pleomorphic adenoma in a 48-year-old patient; the patient underwent complete excision through combined left lateral rhinotomy and functional endoscopic sinus surgery. Conclusion Pleomorphic adenoma is a very rare benign tumor of the nasal cavity. Clinical diagnosis is generally difficult regarding the multitude of differential diagnosis. Confirmation is established upon histological aspect. This is a case of a very rare large pleomorphic adenoma of nasal cavity originating from the lateral wall, associated with differential diagnosis, and surgical approaches, as well as perceivable complications. The strength of this work is to point out the importance of complete surgical extirpation and thorough follow-up to prevent recurrences and malignant transformation.

ABSTRACT Pleomorphic adenomas occurring in the nasal cavity are rarely encountered; nevertheless, there is abundance of minor seromucinous glands in that region. Most cases present with a painless, slowly progressing unilateral nasal obstruction, a nasal mass, and epistaxis. Herewith, we present an unusual case of pleomorphic adenoma arising from the lateral wall of the right nasal cavity in a 41-year-old male who complained of right nasal obstruction with no history of epistaxis. Rigid nasal endoscopy revealed a swelling continuous with right inferior concha. Computed tomography showed a well-defined, soft tissue mass in the right nasal cavity. The lesion was completely excised endoscopically. Histopathology confirmed a pleomorphic adenoma consisting of epithelial and mesenchymal elements. Wide exposure is crucial for complete excision with negative margins to achieve positive outcome and to prevent recurrence. How to cite this article Pandey AK, Bhardwaj A, Maithani T, Rathi S. ABSTRACT Pleomorphic adenomas are most common benign tumor of the major salivary gland, mainly found in parotid gland. Pleomorphic adenomas may also occur in the minor salivary glands of the hard and soft palate. Few cases are also diagnosed in various parts of pharynx and larynx. Intranasal pleomorphic adenomas can arise either from septum or lateral nasal wall. They are very rare entity and occasionally misdiagnosed due to their atypical histopathology. We present a rare case of pleomorphic adenoma diagnosed in middle-aged female originating from lateral wall of right nasal cavity. How to cite this article Joshi S, Bhuie HS, Mathur N, Verma H. Interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS) is an extremely rare neoplasm that mainly arises from the lymphoid tissues of the immune system. Although this neoplasm typically occurs anywhere along the lymph nodes, it can also be found at extranodal sites, especially in the head and neck. We experienced a rare case of extranodal IDCS in the nasal cavity, a location that has not been previously reported. A 73-year-old woman presented with a polyp-like mass in the nasal cavity and underwent endoscopic sinus surgery. A histologic study confirmed the mass as IDCS by immunohistochemistry with S-100 antibody, and postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy was administered. Although the incidence is extremely rare, this case suggests that extranodal IDCS should be considered in the differential diagnosis of nasal cavity masses.

The etiology of pyogenic granuloma (PG) is unclear; it is a reactive tumor-like lesion arising by various stimuli. This study aims to report a rare case of PG of the nasopharynx in a 47 years old Saudi female patient. On October 15th, 2018, a 47-years old Saudi female presented with nasal obstruction for one month. The patient's complaint was associated with on/off epistaxis, headache and allergic symptoms. On examination, she had pedunculated nasopharyngeal lesion. Radiological studies revealed a right nasal cavity mass, a lesion in the nasopharynx without extension to the adjacent structures. Removal of the lesion by nasoscope and cauterization of the base were done. Histopathology revealed vascularized granulation tissue with ulcerated epithelium and fibrinous exudates. Nasopharyngeal pyogenic granuloma is rare. It is one of the differential diagnosis of nasal bleeding.

Mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the nasal cavity is rare. We report the case of a 57-year-old man who was evaluated for a rapidly enlarging subcutaneous mass on the nasal bridge. The tumor was diagnosed as a mucoepidermoid carcinoma. The patient underwent extensive surgical resection andpostoperative radiotherapy, but 5 months later he required orbital exenteration for persistent disease. Despite these radical measures, the patient died with persistent disease 9 months following the initial evaluation. The aggressive behavior of this tumor highlights the need for physicians to be aware of the differential diagnosis, symptoms, and signs of neoplasms that originate in the nasal cavity so that prompt treatment can be instituted.

ABSTRACT A rare case of sinonasal paraganglioma is described. A 40-year-old female patient presented with 2 years history of unilateral nasal obstruction and bleeding. CT scan demonstrated an expansile enhancing mass involving bilateral ethmoids, right nasal cavity and right maxillary sinus. Histopathological diagnosis was neuroendocrine tumor with possibility of paraganglioma. A subtotal maxillectomy with excision of mass performed. Primary nonchromaffin paraganglioma of nose and paranasal sinus is a very rare tumor, these lesion pose diagnostic challenge to clinicians and pathologist. Only twenty five cases are reported in review of literature. Surgical excision is the mainstay of treatment. How to cite this article Arora V, Verma P, Singh PP, Wadhwa N, Bhatia K. Among the ways to approach cases of ectopic teeth, the surgical approach is a valid option and should be considered, since it is considered simple and it permits direct visualization and a rapid recovery. The aim of this article is to report a rare case of ectopic tooth in the lateral wall of the nasal cavity caused by trauma in the maxillofacial region in childhood, and to describe its clinical and imaging characteristics as well as ways of treatment and surgical aspects. A 25-year-old woman was seen at the clinic of Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology due to the presence of a foreign body in the nose. A treatment plan was elaborated based on physical and radiographic examination. The tooth was removed by a surgical approach and the patient underwent esthetic rehabilitation. Surgical treatment of ectopic teeth provides a good and satisfactory postoperative result, is simple and mostly without complications. Ectopic teeth are rare, and the professional should be able to perform the diagnosis, indication and planning of treatment, as well as its execution. Surgical treatment is an option that produced an effective result in the present case.Descriptors: Mouth; Tooth, Impacted; Ambulatory Surgical Procedures.ReferencesVerma RK, Bakshi J, Panda NK. Cases of renal leiomyomas are fewer than 100 in the literature and therefore possess a diagnostic challenge.1 By definition, leiomyomas are benign soft tissue neoplasms.2 that arise from smooth muscle cells.3 The most common sites of origin are the uterus, intestines and skin.4 One of the more unusual types of leiomyomas are the ones arising from the kidneys. They account for about 1.5 % benign lesions of kidneys.5 The methods of detection are through discovery during autopsy, incidental discovery during imaging or by clinical diagnosis in symptomatic lesions.6 Prevalence based on incidental finding at the time of autopsy is 4.2 - 5.2 %.7 Creating a differential diagnosis between leiomyomas and other malignant lesions is only possible by histopathological examination.8 We hereby report a case of 26-year-old female who presented with pain in abdomen and on histopathological examination was diagnosed as a case of renal leiomyoma.
