The research presents the analysis of the influence of the glue connection on the measurement of elongation of stainless steel and aluminum samples by means of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) with uniform fibers used as a measuring transducer. Research indicates two possible factors affecting the deformation of the transmission spectrum obtained during elongation measurement. One of them is the type of adhesive that is used to make the connection between the fiber Bragg grating and the tested sample. The second possible factor is method of connection's execution. The need for research on glue connection resulted from the formation of defects mainly in the form of numerous side bands visible in the transmission spectrum during the measurement of elongations. The test results were presented in the form of graphs obtained on the basis of transmission characteristic.

Duplex stainless steel are good combination of economy, weldability and toughness and are often selected where both strength and corrosion properties are crucial. The research was study the effect of post weld aging parameter on mechanical properties. The specimen was duplex stainless steel UNS31803 grade sheet of 10 mm thickness. This experimental study aims at 23factorial design optimizing various post weld aging parameters including solution temperature at 900 and 1,050 °C, post weld aging temperature at 650 and 850 °C and post weld aging time were set at 4 and 8 hour. The welded specimens were tested by hardness testing in heat affected zone and tensile strength testing. The result showed that both of solution temperature, post weld aging temperature and post weld aging time interaction on hardness and tensile strength at 95% confidential (P value < 0.05). Factors affecting the optimum were solution temperature 1050 °C, PWA temperature 850°C and PWA time 4 hr. at hardness optimum of 282.36 HV and tensile strength optimum of 109.37 kN. This research can bring information to the foundation in choosing the appropriate post weld aging parameters to duplex stainless steel welds.

ABSTRACT In Streptococcus thermophilus, gene transfer events and loss of ancestral traits over the years contribute to its high level of adaptation to milk environments. Biofilm formation capacity, a phenotype that is lost in the majority of strains, plays a role in persistence in dairy environments, such as milk pasteurization and cheese manufacturing plants. To investigate this property, we have studied S. thermophilus UC8547, a fast-acidifying dairy starter culture selected for its high capacity to form biofilm on stainless steel under environmental conditions resembling the dairy environment. Using a dynamic flow cell apparatus, it was shown that S. thermophilus UC8547 biofilm formation on stainless steel depends on the presence of milk proteins. From this strain, which harbors the prtS gene for the cell wall protease and shows an aggregative phenotype, spontaneous mutants with impaired biofilm capacity can be isolated at high frequency. These mutants lack the PrtS expendable island, as confirmed by comparison of the genome sequence of UC8547Δ3 with that of the parent strain. The prtS island excision occurs between two 26-bp direct repeats located in the two copies of the ISSth1 flanking this genomic island. The central role of PrtS was confirmed by analyzing the derivative strain UC8547Δ16, whose prtS gene was interrupted by an insertional mutation, thereby making it incapable of biofilm formation. PrtS, acting as a binding substance between the milk proteins adhered to stainless steel and S. thermophilus cell envelopes, mediates biofilm formation in dairy environments. This feature provides S. thermophilus with an ecological benefit for its survival and persistence in this environment. IMPORTANCE The increased persistence of S. thermophilus biofilm has consequences in the dairy environment: if, on the one hand, the release of this microorganism from biofilm can promote the fermentation of artisanal cheeses, under industrial conditions it may lead to undesirable contamination of dairy products. The study of the molecular mechanism driving S. thermophilus biofilm formation provides increased knowledge on how an ancestral trait affects relevant phenotypes, such as persistence in the environment and efficiency of growth in milk. This study provides insight into the genetic factors affecting biofilm formation at dairy plants.

The article introduce the process of Electric Arc Furnace with Dephosphorized hot metal charging for melting stainless steel in Baosteel stainless steel Branch. Based on the practice of production, The main factors affecting the process of EAF with De-P HM charging are theoretically analyzed, such as using oxygen, the material charging and making slag. The optimization of hot metal charging can advance the use of chemical and physical energy, reduce the consumption of power. The optimization of using oxygen can increase the use of chemical energy. The optimization of material charging can reduce the oxidation of Cr. Making foamy slag can advance the transformer capacity and the use of power. Based on the character of the process EAF with De-P HM charging for Melting Stainless Steel, EAF productivity increased were reached with application of integrated control theory on EAF process in Baosteel stainless steel branch.
