In standard linear finite-element formulations, volumetric locking because of the incompressibility constraint that may occur in computational plasticity is often encountered. This study uses crossed patch arrangements of triangles to form quadrilateral elements in order to overcome the locking in the upper bound finite-element analysis of plane strain deformation problems. The velocity field is described in terms of linear triangular elements, while the incompressibility constraint is imposed by quadrilateral elements. Rigid, perfectly plastic materials, and strain hardening materials that form the von Mises model have been considered. The velocity formulation is presented and has been implemented in a finite-element code. Several examples, some benchmarks problems, are presented to illustrate the applicability of the approach for predicting the load, strain, and velocity field during the plastic deformation. Numerical results show that the crossed patch arrangements of linear triangular elements are free of volumetric locking and achieve well-defined limit loads. This study shows that the presented method can be used to simulate large plastic deformation under plane strain conditions.

The method of severe plastic deformation is often used to produce bulk ultra-fine grained materials. Numerous methods exist, which are able to produce ultra fine grained materials. Investigated the mechanical schema of these procedures, we searched for such attributes, which characterize the mentioned techniques. By our previous researches can be established, that for these techniques shear deformation as well as the so-called non-monotonic deformation are characteristic. In this paper a degree of non-monotonity is presented, which is an appropriate measure to characterize the forming processes. Besides this the combined Euler – Lagrange method is showed, which is appropriate to obtain a continuous velocity field from finite element analysis. Eventually the mechanical analysis of the extrusion, conventional and asymmetric rolling is showed with respect to the non-monotonity.

A semi-analytical solution for plane velocity fields describing steady-state incompressible flow of nonlinearly viscous fluid into an elliptical opening is presented. The flow is driven by hydrostatic pressure applied at infinity. The solution is obtained by minimizing the rate of energy dissipation on a sufficiently flexible incompressible velocity field in elliptical coordinates. The medium is described by a power creep law and solutions are obtained for a range of exponents and ellipse eccentricites. The obtained solutions compare favorably with results of finite element analysis.

With the advancement of technology, aiming for achieving a greater lightness and smaller size of 3C products, parts processing technology not only needs to explore the basic scientific theory of materials but also needs to discuss the process of deep drawing numerical and the plastic deformation. This study is based on the square shape of the deep drawing numerical simulation, and aluminum alloy plastic flow stress was input into the finite element method for simulation of plastic deformation in the aluminum alloy friction, mold clamping force, and frequency, as well as amplitude in the influence of forming mechanism and the drawing ratio of aluminum alloy. Finite element analysis software has the function of grid automatic rebuild, which can rebuild the broken grid in the analysis into a complete grid shape, which can avoid the divergence caused by numerical calculation in the analysis process. The greater the obtained error value, the best plastic parameters can be found.
