The present study is a first report on development of a spectrophotometric method for determination of selexipag (used to cure pulmonary arterial hypertension) in bulk and tablet formulation and its validation. The basis of the proposed method is formation of a chromophore (of λ max 600 nm) in presence of acidic ferric chloride by oxidative coupling reaction between selexipag and MBTH (3-methylbenzo-thiazolin-2-one hydrazone) solution. Regression analysis (r > 0.999) shows that the plotted calibration curve exhibits good linearity in the studied range of concentration (5 – 30 μg mL-1). As per the existing guidelines of ICH, various parameters of the method were tested for validation. Low values of R.S.D. (< 2 %) were observed indicating that the proposed method is reproducible, accurate and precise.

Easy, the accurate, sensitive spectrophotometric method used to determine Benzocaine in a pure and pharmaceutical preparation. The proposed method depends on using Promethazine hydrochloride as a reagent. Where it depends on oxidative coupling reaction of benzocaine by cerium ammonium sulphate with promethazine hydrochloride in the presence of hydrochloric acid to form green dye product, lmax 615 nm. Beers law is obeyed in the concentration of (5 –300 µg.ml-1). The molar absorptivity is (1.77 * 10 3) L.mol -1.cm-1, a sandal sensitivity of (0.0098) µq.cm-2 and RSD (± 0.56 %). The method gave a successful determination for benzocaine in a pharmaceutical preparation.

A new, simple, rapid and sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of sulfamethoxazole in both pure form and pharmaceutical preparations has been reported. The adapted technique based on utilization 4-aminobenzene sulfonic acid as a new modern chromogenic through an oxidative coupling reaction with sulfamethoxazole and potassium iodate in basic media to form orange soluble dye product with absorption maxima at 490 nm. Subject to Beer's law in the range 2–32μg mL-1. The values of molarabsorption coefficient (ε) and correlation coefficient were found to be 9.118 × 103 and0.9999 respectively whereas the Sandels index was 0. 02778 µg.cm-2
