Functionalized alkenes were successfully synthesized via a clean procedure in a short time by using a new recycled heterogeneous catalyst prepared from Moroccan oil shale, this catalyst is characterized by different technics such XRD, BET-BJH, MEB-EDS, and TGA, before it’s has been used in the Knoevenagel condensation between different aldehydes and active methylenes. The results showed that coupling the catalyst with ultrasound irradiations could improve the catalytic system in this transformation by achieving the products in a very short time, the results showed clearly that this catalyst could be considered as excellent recyclable support in Knoevenagel condensation.

The present study investigates the possible removal of Ni2+ ions from aqueous solution by using low-cost Hygrophila auriculata activated nano carbon (HA-ANC) as an adsorbent. The activated nano carbon had been prepared from Hygrophila auriculata stem waste as well; the raw material was carbonized with con. H2SO4 and activated by thermal action. Batch experiments were performed in order to calculate the percentage removal of Ni2+ ions for 90.737% at 60 oC. The properties of treated carbon and untreated carbon are compared using instrumental techniques such as FT-IR, XRD, SEM and EDX, which confirms Ni2+ ions adsorption onto HA-ANC. FT-IR showed that the surface of HA-ANC had more oxygen containing functional groups which enhanced the adsorption of Ni2+. XRD showed the nature of adsorbent, SEM images implies morphological deviance of before and after adsorption of Ni2+ onto HA-ANC and EDX showed that the C content of HA-ANC were higher than that of Ni2+/ HA-ANC.

Tchoukoutou is a local alcoholic drink made from sorghum. The optimization and good quality of this drink depend on certain factors such as temperature that were the subject of our work. To carry out this study, we have set ourselves the general objective of structuring the production of Tchoukoutou. Specifically, the study aims to systematize the cooking of the wort, to verify the properties of the beer through tests and to produce a quality drink. An investigation was made on the influence of temperature on sorghum germination and wort cooking. The study of the effect of temperature on the germination of sorghum was carried out. It concerned four different temperature levels which are: 23 ° C, 26 ° C, 30 ° C and 35 ° C. A study of the influence of temperature on brewing was done with different varieties of sorghum and also at different temperature ranges: 78 ° C, 83 ° C, 89 ° C, and 92 ° C. The results showed that the ideal germination temperature is 30 ° C and for brewing it is 78 ° C. The soaking time during germination, for a good germination rate, is between 16h and 26h. In conclusion, the temperature factor is a parameter that should not be overlooked when making Tchoukoutou. Our study thus made will serve as a basis for subsequent studies in the same direction to achieve a standardized industrial production of Tchoukoutou.

The rate equations in kinematics are expressed through basic laws under surface reaction as well as non-surface reaction. Rate law is center theme of non-surface reaction whereas Langmuir adsorption isotherms are basis of surface reaction rate expressions. A modified rate equation for bimolecular reaction is presented which considers both catalyst surface affairs as well as fraction of successful collision of different reactant for cracking and forming bonds. The modified rate law for bimolecular reaction for surface as well as non-surface reaction is stated as “Rate of a reaction is directly proportional to concentration as well as catalyst surface affair of each reactant” as r = k ΩA[A] ΩB[B] where catalyst surface affair of ith species is defined as Ωi = Ki/(1+Ki[i] + Kj[j] + …). Here, Ki is the equilibrium constant of “i” species for adsorption-desorption processes over catalyst. i, j,… indicates the different adsorbed chemical species at uniform catalyst sites and the same [i], [j], … indicates the concentration of different adsorbed chemical species at uniform catalyst sites.

At present in agricultural techniques engaged the optimal nutrient supply is very imperative factor for elevated crop yield and all essential plant macro and micronutrients. Micronutrients play vital role in photosynthesis. For balanced crop nutrition micronutrient support is essential. Micronutrient fertilizer required in small quantities by plants and occupy vital role in physiology of plant kingdom. Proven fact is decisive plant functions are over involved if enough micronutrients are engaged. In this paper the author developed a new N-P-K fertilizer fortified with tri -micronutrient matrix and its application for optimal Plant growth. The author developed and analyzed hundred percent water soluble active fertilizer(15-15-15) with three important micronutrients (-3.4 0.5%Zn, 0.5%Fe, 0.5% Mg). Pot experiments were conducted with and without proposed fertilizer on Solanum lycopersicum(tomato) seeds. The proposed enhanced efficiency fertilizer with tri micronutrient matrix showed better plant growth as compared to normal untreated fertilizer in low nutrient soil field.

Sorbitol has a low calorie value, this is due to the presence of a pair of O-H free electrons on the sorbitol molecule. The pair of free electrons can be removed by the Tunnel method (through the shadow of the sorbitol container). Sorbitol which has lost a pair of free electrons from the O-H group is called sorbitol switching. The instrument used to prove the release of a pair of free electrons in the O-H group is to use FTIR and clinical trials conducted on mice given sorbitol to prove the effectiveness between sorbitol and sorbitol switching. The results show that sorbitol switching is able to maintain the stability of blood sugar levels in the body of mice and can reduce blood sugar levels.

Silver is an agent used for different wounds and ulcer treatment as it is nontoxic. However, silver in an ionic or Nanoparticles form is highly toxic to microorganisms. Hence, silver Nanoparticles has wide range of applications than silver ion. Over the physical and chemical methods green synthesis is eco-friendly and cost effective. The present study reveals the formation of silver Nanoparticles by using the fruit extract (Ananas Comosus) by observing the colour change. The produced nanoparticles are characterized by the physicochemical techniques, X-ray diffraction, UV-Visible and antimicrobial activity. The diffraction peaks attributed to 2θ values of 38.11˚ and 44.27˚ (111, 200) reveals the formation of silver nanoparticles. UV-Vis spectrophotometer shows Surface Plasmon resonance (SPR) at 459 nm. The antibacterial studies promise the formation of silver nanoparticle with the ability to inhibit growth of Escherichia coli.

As ceria chemistry broadens, it is needed to generalize the behavior of ceria surfaces towards molecules for carrying out a reaction. The endowing capacity of mobile oxygen due to rapid redox switching between Ce+4/Ce+3 is a key point for ceria containing surfaces. Herein we have presented a review which is broadly divided into two parts. First part focuses on surface property as how electronic structure, vacancy and surface energy would be modified after interaction of ceria with dopant (noble metal, metal of variable oxidation state, higher valent metal and lower valent metal). The second part focuses on catalysis as how the doped ceria surface influences the carbon monoxide transformations (CO oxidation, CO and H2O reaction, CO and NO reaction, CO and H2 reaction). This through study will be helpful to predict the ceria surface for a designed reaction.

Edible vegetable oils were gelled by using N-(2-aminoethyl)-oleamide. Oils in their free state were subjected to differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) analysis. The gels of these oils were prepared by using N-(2-aminoethyl)-oleamide as gelator and similar thermal analysis of the gels was carried out. The thermal analysis data obtained was used to determine specific heat capacity at constant pressure (Cp). The values were compared with the reported values of heat capacities. It is observed that the thermal properties and transitions of oils and gels, specific heat capacity is helpful parameter to understand the fundamentals of gels and gelation strategies.

Effect of different concentrations of aqueous solutions of sodium cyclamate on sugars (mono and disaccharides) are observed by measuring the densities of (sugar + water) and (sugar + water + sodium cyclamate) systems. Densities of aqueous solutions of D (+) mannose (monosaccharide) and D (+) maltose monohydrate (disaccharide) in (0.05, 0.15, 0.3) mol.kg-1 of sodium cyclamate (Na-Cyclamate) at T = 298.15 K have been measured. From experimental values of densities , Vɸ0( partial molar volumes) ΔtrsVɸ0 (partial molar volumes of transfer) ASV (apparent specific volumes) interaction parameters (𝑉𝐴𝐵) and (𝑉𝐴𝐵𝐵 ) have been determined. The calculated values of various parameters have been used to interpret the results in terms of (D (+) mannose – water), (D (+) mannose –water– Na-cyclamate), (D (+) maltose monohydrate – water) and (D (+) maltose monohydrate – water – Na-cyclamate) interactions in sugar– water – Na-cyclamate and quality of taste sense of solutions.
