Linear permanent magnet generator (LPMG) is an essential component in recent wave energy converter (WEC) which exploits wave’s heave motion. It could be classified into tubular-type, flat-tricore type, and quasi-flat type. In previous researches, these three models have been studied and designed for pico-scale WEC. Design optimization has further been conducted for flat-tricore LPMG, by using simulated annealing (SA) algorithm. It modified some parameters to minimize the resulted copper loss. This paper aims to optimize a quasi-flat LPMG design by applying SA algorithm. The algorithm would readjust the initial LPMG parts dimension. Then, the output of the optimized design would be analyzed and compared. The results showed that the optimization could reduce the copper loss by up to 73.64 % and increase the efficiency from 83.2 % to 95.57 %. For various load resistances, the optimized design also produces larger efficiency. However, the optimized design has a larger size and produces larger cogging force than the initial design.

The steering column assembly which connects the steering wheel and the steering gear is a very important part of the steering system. This paper presented the optimization design and testing of the steering column upper bearing of an upcoming automobile targeting the 2010-2015 Chinese market. The design problems were formulated into an optimization problem and were solved by Simulated Annealing Algorithm. 6 sample bearings were produced according to the optimization results and tests of steering upper bearing durability, steering shaft looseness and rotation effects performed on each sample to verify the optimized design. According to the test results, the optimal design of the steering column upper bearing is reliable. By using the Simulated Annealing Algorithm, the design time and costs of the steering upper bearing were reduce at least by 2 months and 60,000 USD, respectively.

As the global properties of traditional optimization algorithm was weak, the local solution of it appeared easily. The simulated annealing algorithm’s cooling rate was slower and he local searching ability was insufficient. Use the simulated annealing compound method that is combined of the simulated annealing algorithm and compound method. Research the optimization design of elastic suspension with the genetic compound method and compare with the traditional optimization methods. The results show that the algorithm is correct and effective in solving multi variable and constraint optimization problem of elastic suspension.

The present paper is an attempt to get total minimum of trigonometric Functions by Simulated Annealing. To do so the researchers ran Simulated Annealing. Sample trigonometric functions and showed the results through Matlab software. According the Simulated Annealing Solves the problem of getting stuck in a local Maxterm and one can always get the best result through the Algorithm.
