The article deals with the issues of legal regulation of the use of genetically modified organisms in the process of agricultural production in the European Union. The solution to the problems of agricultural production intensification is primarily possible through the use of new modern intensive technologies of crop production, animal husbandry and fisheries, which are also developed on the basis of the latest achievements of the biotechnological industry. One of the directions of intensification of agricultural production is the use of genetically modified crops, which allows increasing the profitability of growing plants, ensuring their increased resistance to negative climatic conditions, pathogens of infectious diseases, etc. The possibility of using such technologies is related to the need to assess their potential risk to the environment and human health. For almost 20 years, the European Union has had a fairly developed system of regulations governing various aspects of the use of genetically modified organisms in agriculture. However, their commercial use in the European Union for various reasons (complexity of administration, negative attitude in society, etc.) has not become widespread over time, and in most member States has now been banned. Taking into account the European experience, the author concludes that it is necessary to use other methods to intensify agricultural production, and the ban on the commercial use of genetically modified organisms in food production is justified due to insufficient scientific data on their safety for human health and the environment

Beaches are natural resources that substantially enrich the tourist offer. They are an extremely valuable resource, with economic, recreational, and health significance. Beaches are a place for socializing, sports and enjoying (sun, sea, and sand tourism product). Because of their different roles, especially urban and hotels/resorts beaches, they are exposed to various and numerous negative impacts caused by natural changes and human activity. Beaches should not be just an object for commercial use, as their meaning for people is much wider. This research focuses on managing and protecting beaches that require social responsibility due to their determining role in the national economies. The guidelines for effective management primarily refer the necessity of developing intellectual resources, the coordination between institutions, ensuring pro-activity and being holistic oriented in managing beaches. Scientists and professionals need to recognize their importance and take action to preserve this valuable asset for future generations. In that sense, the purpose of this research is to analyse the legal regulation and to highlight the differences and similarities between two countries, Croatia and Portugal, which due to their physical geography, climate and tourism activity, are based mainly on beach-related activities.

The paper studies some aspects and considerations of the legal regulation of genomic research in the context of modern challenges. Approaches to the formulation of some basic concepts in the field of bioinformatics, such as information, information space, are proposed, the importance of these concepts for legal regulation is substantiated. Approaches to the legal regulation of the commercial use of the results of genomic research in the field of bioinformatics are formulated. Approaches to the legal regulation of the activities of biobanks are proposed based on the analysis of the possibility of using blockchain technology to improve the functioning of the biobank, the possibility of attracting investments through crowdfunding financing. The classification of biobanks according to various criteria is given. Approaches to the formulation of such concepts as donation and parenthood are determined within the framework of the legal regulation of genomic research in the field of human reproduction. The influence of modern challenges associated with the development of science and technology on the formulation of these concepts is considered. Approaches to solving the problem of ensuring a balance of private, group and general interests in the field of legal regulation of genomic research are proposed.
