Modern organizations have raised a need to actively and quickly react to the changes in external business environment, as well as in internal processes considering not only the present situation, but also evaluating possible changes and forecasting the future. Enterprise risk assessment and management, which is strongly related with foreseeing the uncertain future, becomes topical not only scientifically, but also practically seeking to reveal new and unique solutions. Operational risk management in small and medium enterprises, creating the largest part of value added in the whole European Union, demands a separate attention and coordinated decisions and means. The objective of the paper – to analyse the process of enterprise risk management in small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to propose adequate risk management solutions for these companies. After performing a research, it was found out that small and medium enterprises more than big organizations require a risk management strategy and methodology, need to distinguish activity objectives and events influencing them, and they can efficiently apply a risk portfolio method to manage risk. In small and medium enterprises it is recommended to incorporate a risk management system based on COSO ERM model that can be modified depending on company needs and possibilities, turning it into less formal and structured and easily applicable.

This study attempts to narrow the gaps that exist in the literature about branding in the context of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The research method used is a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with Owners, Managing Directors, and Human Resource Managers in MSMEs. The results of this study indicate that the UMKM employer branding is still limited to intention. It can be seen from the absence of programs or activities that support employer branding programs that are felt directly by their employees. This is induced by the focus of MSME businessmen who are still on fundamental issues such as financial constraints and the absence of loyal consumers. The results of this study can be used by educators or stakeholders in Indonesian MSMEs as a reference for formulating employer branding approaches and strategies that are in line with the characteristics of MSMEs in Indonesia. Sustainable development is becoming a very important issue in the 21st century. Facing global changes such as the global warming, global climate change, as well as other pressing issue, all spheres of economy and social life need to take part in mitigating them and preventing disasters from happening. Our article studies the role of the small business in the above processes and the place of the small business in promoting sustainable development through its actions, public and social awareness and responsibility. We show how even small and medium enterprises can become a decisive power in tackling the climate change and promoting green thinking and sustainable awareness. This can be achieved through enhancing social responsibility of business companies which can greatly contribute to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and promoting sustainable economic growth.

As a powerful driver, small and medium enterprises (SME) has a huge contribution to the German economy. The shortage of skilled workers underlines an emerging and resilient German economy. However, the future prospects of SME depend on creative employees as key actors. Nevertheless, demographic change is perceptible so that the labour integration of resident immigrants becomes more important. But several studies investigated inequalities especially discrimination in the labour market intensifying brain drain. Social discrimination has great impact on the capabilities of people, particularly in labour. Disadvantages are exposed to a lack of opportunities with the result of a capability gap. Diversity management offers competitive advantages but is mostly a management tool of bigger enterprise performances. This paper will present a process of enabling and empowering management process of capabilities. It is presented by the example of the solution cycle which will be called a participatory process design contributing to the lack in the classic management of diversity.

Murabaha Financing have potentially lower risk than other financing product. It chosen by USP Kopontren XYZ to fulfill members financing demand both for business development and consumptive purposes. Termination of Employment Relationship, working cycle and Bad characters some members cause of the collectibility default in Murabaha Financing.This study using qualitative approach and case studies. The collection of primarydata through in-depth interview, while secondary data obtained from the AnnualMembers Meeting report Kopontren XYZ . Explanation building analysis techniques are use to explain the results of in-depth interviews in order to explain the handling of murabaha financing collectibility default.The results explained to handling collectability default adopt according to The Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 35.3 / Per / M.KUKM / X / 2007, executing from cash collateral, financial penalties for those who deliberately, and converts the contract.

This issue largely focuses on the topics related to general management. The first article on ‘Impact of Innovative Strategic Human Resource Management Practices on the Performance of Small and Medium Enterprises’– A Case Study of Karnataka by B.K.Sathyanarayana and Nawal Kishor aims at evaluating the application and implementation of Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) practices for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and to examine its impact on organisational performance. Six hundred & forty SMEs in and around the Bangalore District from both Manufacturing and Services Sector responded to the various Strategic Human Resource Management drivers and organizational drivers and it was inferred that there exists a positive significant correlation between these variables.  The next article on sustainable development best management practices in the food processing industry by Uma CS, Basavaraj & Prasanna Joshi attempts to study sustainable development that involves issues like organic farming, food safety and food quality. This paper highlights on the concept of green food system and the approach of good agricultural practices (GAP) which is a new concept that stresses on international quality standards, concerns and commitments about food production, food safety and security, environment sustainability of agriculture. Quality management is equally important in the food industry. Food processing is a capital intensive, water consuming and a polluting industry.  Therefore this paper also studies the management practices in this industry to reduce water wastage, ensuring food quality so the concept of green growth can be achieved. It also throws light on the various Governmental laws and regulations passed to control pollution and ensure food quality and health of the people.

Relations between public procurement, regional development, and e-procurement are discussed in this chapter. First, main themes of the debate are reviewed. Subsequently, some relations between public procurement, regional development, and e-procurement are discussed. The Czech Republic is used as a case study in this regard. The authors’ findings confirm the potential of public procurement to stimulate development of Czech regions. Spatially, public procurement may not be regarded as a suitable tool for reduction of regional disparities. However, there seems to be an important impact of public procurement on the development of local small and medium enterprises. In addition, the authors’ findings point at some links between public procurement and the concepts of sustainable development and competitiveness. Nevertheless, the dominant position of price as evaluation criterion indicates that the linkages are rather weak. Finally, the increasing interest of the Czech Republic in e-procurement was documented.
