Abstract The search and exploration of new materials not found in nature is one of modern trends in pure and applied chemistry. In the present work, we report on experimental and ab initio density-functional study of the high-pressure-synthesized series of compounds Mn1−x(Co,Rh)xGe. These high-pressure phases remain metastable at normal conditions, therewith they preserve their inherent noncentrosymmetric B20-type structure and chiral magnetism. Of particular interest in these two isovalent systems is the comparative analysis of the effect of 3d (Co) and 4d (Rh) substitution for Mn, since the 3d orbitals are characterized by higher localization and electron interaction than the 4d orbitals. The behavior of Mn1−x(Co,Rh)xGe systems is traced as the concentration changes in the range 0 ≤ x ≤ 1. We applied a sensitive experimental and theoretical technique which allowed to refine the shape of the temperature dependencies of magnetic susceptibility χ(T) and thereby provide a new and detailed magnetic phase diagram of Mn1−xCoxGe. It is shown that both systems exhibit a helical magnetic ordering that very strongly depends on the composition x. However, the phase diagram of Mn1−xCoxGe differs from that of Mn1−xRhxGe in that it is characterized by coexistence of two helices in particular regions of concentrations and temperatures.

Magnetic properties of the high-pressure stabilized perovskite BiFe1-yScyO3 phases (0.1 ≤ y ≤ 0.9) have been studied by means of magnetization measurements and neutron diffraction. The metastable perovskites of this series undergo irreversible polymorphic transformations upon annealing, the phenomenon referred to as conversion polymorphism. It has been found that the solid solutions with y ≥ 0.70 exhibit no long-range magnetic ordering regardless of their polymorph modification, while those with y ≤ 0.60 are all antiferromagnets. Depending on the scandium content, temperature and structural distortions, three types of the antiferromagnetic orderings, involving collinear, canted and cycloidal spin arrangements, have been revealed in the phases obtained via conversion polymorphism and the corresponding magnetic phase diagram has been suggested.

In this paper, a complete investigation of the magnetic properties of the Hubbard model on the AB2 chain is presented. We evaluate the magnetic phase diagram as a function of the electron–electron interaction and band filling by using the Green's function method within the Hartree–Fock approximation. Our results are in agreement with Lieb's theorem and the system shows ferromagnetic, ferrimagnetic, and paramagnetic phases.

The nuclear magnetic specific heat of body-centered cubic solid 3He in applied magnetic fields has been measured as a function of temperature through a temperature range including the nuclear magnetic ordering temperature. The magnetic phase diagram has been determined. The nuclear magnetic properties are also discussed.
