Electronic Excitation Energy Transfer among like Molecules in Solution A theory of the excitation energy transfer among like (bomotransfer) molecules in solution, based on a shell model of the luminescent centre and on the assumptions given in our previous paper * is elaborated. Expressions for the time-dependent concentration depolarisation of the photo-luminescence (for emission anisotropy) in the sphere-and the shell-model are obtained. The expression for the concentration-dependent depolarisation is compared with the experimental results for five luminescent compounds in rigid cellulose acetate films. Good agreement was found with the equation which takes into account the excitation energy remigration.
