AbstractThe title complex has been prepared from Ga[GaBr4] and [2](1,4)naphthalino[2]paracyclophane in toluene as a solvent, and the crystal structure of this adduct determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure is composed of dimeric units Ga2[GaBr4]2 , which are crosslinked into sheets through Ga(I)-arene coordination. Both the benzene ring and the substituted ring of the naphthalene system are η6-bonded from the outer side of the cyclophane cage, each to an univalent metal. The benzene and the naphthalene form an interplane angle of 49.3°. The distance to the benzene ring (2.67 Å) is much shorter than the distance to the naphthalene (2.85 Å), suggesting a stronger complexation with the unperturbed π-system of the former. [2.2](l,4)Naphthalinophane forms no adduct with Ga[GaBr4], and with [2](l,5)naphthalino[2]paracyclophane secondary reactions are observed.

A novel metalorganic coordination polymer, namely [Co3(bpd)5.5(NCS)6(NH3)]n2H2O (1) (bpd=1,4-bis (4-pyridyl)-2,3-diaza-1,3-butadiene), has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, infrared spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 presents 2D[3,4,-connected 3-nodal net with the point symbol (4268210)(4462)(8210). In addition, four identical 2D single nets is interlocked with each other in parallel, thus directly leading to the formation of a polycatenated layer (2D2D).

The dimer [(η5-C5Me5)Ru(C3B2Me5)RhCl]2 (2) reacts with 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (dppe) to give the triple-decker complex [(η5-C5Me5)Ru(C3B2Me5)Rh- (dppe)Cl] (3). Its constitution follows from NMR and MS data, and a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study.

The crystal structure of the title compound has been determined at 295 K by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods and refined by least- squares techniques to a residual of 0.049 for 1046 'observed' reflections. Crystals are monoclinic, P21/c, a 11.584(6), b 5.449(7), c 15.273(8) Ǻ, β 92.44(4)°, Z4. The pair of quinol hydrogen atoms are both located on the one benzene ring as the title indicates.

The synthesis of triphenyltelluroniumsulfide (Ph3TeS)4 is described together with a NMR-spectroscopic characterization. The structure of the title compound was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Crystals of triphenyltelluroniumsulfide are triclinic (space group P1) with the cell parameters a = 1178.0(3) pm. b = 1295.8(6) pm. c = 1298.7(4) pm, α = 77.67(3)°, β = 82.18(2)°, γ = 66.00(2)° (V = 1766(1) × 106 pm3) and Z = 2. The compound appears to form a step-like structure of two [Ph3TeS]2 units and crystallizes with two molecules of CH2Cl2 per unit cell.

Colorless and transparent single crystals of Ba2H3I were obtained by reacting Ba with dried and sublimed NH4I in a 4 : 1 molar ratio in silica-jacketed Nb ampoules at 1100 K for 13 h. The crystal structure of the title compound was determined and refined by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Ba2H3I crystallizes in a stuffed anti-CdI2 structure isotypic to Sr2H3I in the space group P3̄m1 (no. 164) with the lattice parameters a = 451.86(12) and c = 811.84(23) pm. The structural results for Ba2H3I are consistent with bond lengths and coordination geometries of related binary and ternary hydrides

Hydrothermal reactions of biphenyl-3,3'-dicarboxylate acid (H2bpda) with Manganese(II) chloride gave rise to one new coordination polymer, namely, [Mn(bpda)]n. It was characterized by elemental analysis and single - crystal X - ray diffraction methods. This compound has one Mn metal center and shows a 3D uninterpenetrating framework

A new potassium molybdenum oxide, K6Mo10O33, was synthesized by solid state reaction from the appropriate quantities of pre-dried MoO3 and K2MoO4, fired at around 650 °C for 2 d. The structure has been solved by using single crystal X-ray diffraction. The compound adopts the space group P1, with the lattice constants a = 7.7100(5), b = 11.9659(8), c = 17.1321(12) A° , α = 86.42 (10), β = 77.18(10), γ = 74.14(10)°. The structure is built up of infinite chains of edge-sharing MoO6 octahedra and groups of four MoO6 octahedra forming Mo4O17 units. These sub-units are connected together by common vertices.
