We report a new locality record for the Mehuín Green Frog, Insuetophrynus acarpicus Barrio, 1970, a Critically Endangered species from southern Chile. The new locality is about 90 km southeast of the type locality and expands the known geographical distribution 40 km to the southeast. The new record confirms the presence of I. acarpicus south of the Lingue and Valdivia rivers. Our documentation demonstrates a discontinuous distribution of this frog in the Valdivian Coastal Range of Chile and intensifies the need to implement effective strategies for its conservation.

Platycerium grande (Fee) Kunze is an endemic, Critically Endangered species of fern in the Philippines. The known distribution of this species remains limited at present and its population is threatened by various anthropogenic threats especially for ornamental collection.  In our recent survey, we found high abundance of this species in Central Mindanao, southern Philippines.  It can be distinguished from other species belonging to the genus Platycerium through its frond’s vegetative leaf which is symmetrical with two equally long main lobe.  Based on literatures, the known distribution range extend from Zambaonga, Lanao, and Davao (Mt. Apo); and our recent records extends the known distribution of this species in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat and South Upi, Maguindanao suggesting this species may still be around in other areas within the known range, however, the species may remain narrowly distributed as multiple threats to this species continue to persist.

Abstract In this paper, a new distribution record of Phytolacca acinosa in Poland is presented. It was found on 30 September 2018 in Kraków, southern Poland, growing in a hedge of Ligustrum vulgare. Currently, it should be treated as a casual alien species in the Polish flora. The updated map of the distribution of P. acinosa in Poland is provided using the ATPOL cartogram method.

A species in the family Asteraceae, Saussurea bogedaensis, was newly described from Bogeda Mountain in Xinjiang, China and is a critically endangered species in China. Morphological and genetic characteristics confirm the presence of this species in Mongolia, as it was found in Baitag Bogd Mountain (in the Dzungarian Gobi). In addition, the distribution and conservation status of S. bogedaensis are provided.

Nymphaea alba var. rubra Lönnr. is reported for the first time from Dal Lake, Kashmir Himalaya, India. The taxonomic identification was confirmed based on rhizome, leaf and flower characters. A brief description and photographic illustrations of N. alba var. rubra are provided to validate the new distribution record for aquatic flora of this Himalayan region. A comparison of N. alba var. rubra with its allied taxon, N. alba var. alba, is provided to facilitate field identification.

The Many-lined Sun Skink, Eutropis multifasciata (Kuhl, 1820), has so far been reported from seven localities in Bangladesh. We present the first record of this species from Faridpur district of the country. Our new record extends the distribution of the species by nearly 123 km from its nearest previously known record at Jahangiragar University, Dhaka district, and updates the distribution of this poorly known species in Bangladesh.

We report the southernmost known occurrence in the Atlantic Ocean of the striped smooth-hound, Mustelus fasciatus (Garman, 1913). The shark, a female measuring 106 cm TL, was fished in warm coastal waters, with a salinity of 33,189 PSU, of central Argentina (40°52ʹ13ʺ S, 062°18ʹ42ʺ W). This report increases by 205 km southward the known range of this endemic and Critically Endangered species.

In this correspondence, the distribution of a population of Amomum kingii Baker, a Critically Endangered species of Zingiberaceae, is reported from Darjeeling District, West Bengal, India.  Previously, this plant was described only from Sikkim, India and no other population of this endemic plant has ever been found outside this distributional range.  In the present study, the plant was morphologically described and molecular characterization was done for the first time using three DNA regions- ITS, matK and rbcL.  The urgency and necessity of conservation of this plant has also been discussed.

Corbicula largillierti (Philippi 1844), an invasive freshwater bivalve, accidentally reached Argentina from Asia presumably in the 1960s. Since then, records of its presence from the Rio de la Plata River to the northeast and northwest Argentinian freshwater systems have been documented. A new record in Del Valle River, part of the Del Valle Central basin in Catamarca Province of northwest Argentina, makes evident that the species is still spreading through Argentina.
