We present the first record of Ischnocnema octavioi from São Paulo state, Brazil. Until now, the species was thought to be endemic to Rio de Janeiro, where it was known from fewer than 10 localities. Based on recent data, we recommend that the IUCN Red List status for this species be re-evaluated.

Specimens of Scinax cardosoi were collected in the vicinity of temporary lentic waterbodies within the Atlantic Rainforest of the Vale do Paraíba region of São Paulo state, Brazil. These record increases the distribution of this species by 236 km from the nearest previous records in Minas Gerais state and 313 km from its type locality in Rio de Janeiro state. Here we report the first record of Scinax cardosoi for the São Paulo state.

The occurrence of Euglossa imperialis Cockerell, 1922 is recorded for the first time in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. This paper extends the distribution of the species by about 800 km west of the São Paulo state, its nearest record.

The current checklist is the result of a long-term multidisciplinary project which combined molecular techniques (mitochondrial DNA markers) and morphological analyses of adult specimens for an accurate and detailed identification of the total biodiversity of decapod crustaceans from marine and coastal (including estuaries) environments of São Paulo State (Brazil). This is the first of a series of reports and providing a checklist of caridean shrimps of the families Hippolytidae (5 spp.), Lysmatidae (6 spp.), Ogyrididae (2 spp.), Processidae (5 spp.) and Thoridae (1 sp.). We collected material of 13 species out of 19 recorded, with sequences of cytochrome oxidase subunit I - barcode region and 16S generated from 10 species. The previous record of Lysmata cf. intermedia for São Paulo is actually L. jundalini, as the first record in São Paulo/South Atlantic waters. The molecular data were helpful to confirm the identification of some species, as the occurrence of L. wurdemanni which is confirmed in the South Atlantic Ocean based on morphological, color pattern and molecular data.

Abstract Although São Paulo state has one of the best known amphibian fauna in Brazil, there are still protected areas for which the species composition remains unknown. Here, we present the first species list of anuran amphibians in Vassununga State Park. This area is one of the last remnants of semideciduous Atlantic Forest and Cerrado in the northeastern region of São Paulo state, southeastern Brazil. To survey species, we visited six sites (two ponds, two streams, and two transects) in December, January, and February of 2014-2015 and 2015-2016, totalizing 18 days of field samplings at each site. We recorded 24 anuran species belonging to four families: Bufonidae (2 species), Hylidae (11 species), Leptodactylidae (10 species), and Microhylidae (1 species). Anurans consist mainly of generalist and widely distributed species. Although none of the species recorded are threatened with extinction according to the International Red List of Endangered Species (IUCN), four species have declining population and another three species have unknown population trends.

The ultimate stadium larva of Lauromacromia picinguaba Carvalho, Salgado & Werneck-de-Carvalho is described and illustrated based on reared specimens from Picinguaba, Ubatuba, São Paulo state, Brazil, some of which belong to the type-series. All material is deposited in the Instituto de Biologia, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Rio de Janeiro. General notes on larval biology and the breeding habitat are provided. A generic key for South American Corduliidae larvae is appended.

This is the first record of the subfamily Simognathinae for the Brazilian coast. Two new species are described, Acaromantis vespucioi sp. nov. and Simognathus euphractus sp. nov. The description of Simognathus fuscus Viets, 1936 is extended with the inclusion of juveniles description.

Heimbra bicolor Subba Rao, 1978 (Hymenoptera, Eurytomidae) was previously known in Mexico, Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil, with records in Federal District and Rio Grande do Norte, Minas Gerais, and Santa Catarina states. Here, we newly report this species from the state of São Paulo based on three females collected at Estação Ecológica de Jataí, in the municipality of Luiz Antônio, São Paulo state, Brazil. Additionally, we provide a map with the geographical distribution of the species based on the new record and literature. This record increases the number of species of Heimbra known in São Paulo state to two species.
