Gonatopus mariae Martins, Lara, Perioto & Olmi, 2015, described from the state of São Paulo, is recorded for the first time in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil, representing the first record of the genus and species from the state. The specimen was collected with a Malaise Dossel trap and deposited at the Entomological Collection of the Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (Brazil). A diagnosis and illustration of this species are presented  demonstrating morphological variation of the type material. A distribution map is also provided. Gonatopus mariae is a rare species and its distribution is probably restricted to the southeastern region of Brazil.

We record for the first time the presence of Chiasmocleis avilapiresae in the state of Acre, Brazil. This microhylid frog is found throughout Amazon in Brazil and no information about its distribution in the Acre state was reported previously. An increase on sampling efforts, revision of material housed in herpetological collections, and use of diverse herpetofauna sampling methods might reveal additional localities and more information about this species.

We report for the first time the snake Thamnodynastes almae Franco & Ferreira, 2002 in Piauí, northeastern Brazil. Our record is based on two specimens and comprises the 17th known locality for the species. The new record represents the northernmost and westernmost locality, at the limit between the Caatinga and the Maranhão Babaçu Forest ecoregions, and extends this species’ geographic distribution 495 km from Milagres, state of Ceará. Updated distribution maps and images of preserved specimens are provided.

The Eastern cat snake Boiga gocool (Gray, 1835) was recorded for the first time in the state of Tripura. The mildly venomous snake was documented by the authors in an opportunistic survey on 12 July 2020 near the Khowai river bridge, Khowai district, Tripura (24.064N & 91.596E; 129m). This new record will help in updating the status of the herpetofauna of Tripura, India.

The Palearctic wool carder bee Anthidium manicatum (Linnaeus) is recorded for the first time in Chile based on eight specimens collected on Lavandula sp. (Lamiaceae) in San Bernardo, Metropolitan Region.  This new record expands the invasive range of this species in South America, confirming previous predictions based on an ecological niche model.

This study provides the first record of the exotic invasive bivalve Isognomon bicolor for the State of Paraíba, Northeastern Brazil. It has been found to occur in at least twelve coastal reefs along the coast. We also present its first record for the State of Alagoas and new record localities for the States of Rio Grande do Norte and Pernambuco, including its occurrence in hypersaline estuaries. From these records the distribution range of I. bicolor has been expanded to the littoral region of Northeast Brazil, where this invasive species seems well established.

Abstract A taxonomic treatment of the genera Turnera and Piriqueta in the state of Pernambuco, northeastern Brazil, is presented. Fourteen species of Turnera and six species of Piriqueta were found in the Atlantic Forest and Caatinga, of which nine are endemic to Brazil. Turnera pernambucensis is threatened and restricted to the Atlantic Forest of Pernambuco, while T. joelii is a new record for the state. The species predominate in steppe savanna and semideciduous seasonal forest, but several of them grow naturally in anthropized areas. Catimbau National Park is the locality with the highest species richness. Tristyly is recorded for the first time in Piriqueta guianensis. Identification keys, descriptions, illustrations, distribution maps, and comments about habitat, flowering, fruiting, and morphological relationships are provided.
