ABSTRACT Aim of the study Complete rehabilitation of a 38-year-old female patient with radiation caries and xerostomia postirradiation therapy for the treatment of carcinoma of esophagus, by a multidisciplinary approach involving specialties of periodontics, endodontics and prosthodontics. Summary This 38-year-old female patient presented with missing teeth, ill fitting prosthesis, radiation caries and xerostomia as a consequence of radiation therapy. In addition, the patient was severely psychologically affected not just due to the carcinoma, but also due to the adverse effects of cancer therapy. Therefore, rehabilitation of such a patient was aimed not just at careful oral reconstruction of lost and damaged structures but also towards providing a boost to her self-esteem. The outcome of this multidisciplinary approach led to a completely wellrehabilitated patient, both orally as well as psychologically.

The steadily growing interest in studying of endocrine genetics is driven not only by the search for new pathologies but also by the most pressing need to develop methods for early diagnosis, treatment and management of patients. Though 20% of all the patients with von Hippel-Lindau syndrome do not have a family history of the disease; a genetic basis is a natural characteristic of the disease and determinates a phenotype. Despite the nonaggressive course, in general, a relative unpredictability of the syndrome signs onset and the lack of regular monitoring can increase the risk of surgery complications and cause a disability at a young age. The presented clinical case shows the need for a multidisciplinary approach to management of the patients with von Hippel-Lindau syndrome.

Amelogenesis imperfecta (AI) comprises a vast group of developmental alterations in the quantity and/or quality of enamel, unaffected by systemic disorders. In this case report we describe the typical clinical and radiographic features of AI with multiple impacted teeth and altered eruption pathways. Patients with AI benefit from early diagnosis and treatment to prevent tooth loss and loss of vertical dimension. Optimal management of these patients requires a multidisciplinary approach and regular dental recall appointments. Therefore it is the oral health clinician’s responsibility for the timeous identification of this condition.

AbstractTooth wear is multifactorial and its way of presentation is complex. Many factors are to considered before arriving at a final treatment plan. Time tested philosophies of dental reconstruction must be taken as a basic foundation to which modifications can be done as per individual needs of the patient. The ultimate aim of any treating dentist is to arrive at a solution which lays emphasis on the comprehensive oral health of the patient. This case report describes one such case of managementof a patient with generalized sensitivity.
