Sustainable energy development has attracted attention worldwide, partly because of the value chain of the wind energy industry that focuses on the overall value creation and innovation. In order to achieve not only ambitious goals in the fight against climate change, but also to create significant economic benefits for European Union citizens, it is necessary to ensure the production of renewable energy components in Europe itself and in Lithuania at the same time. This paper aims to evaluate the competitiveness of Lithuanian companies that manufacture wind energy components. The research was conducted applying methods such as a survey of manufacturers of wind energy components, expert assessment and descriptive analysis. The results of the competitiveness assessment revealed that the existing conditions and trends are favourable for the development of their performance and strengthening of their competitiveness. The government solutions to promote industry could facilitate the performance of companies operating in the value chain of wind energy components and encourage new companies to join it. This would encourage the Lithuanian industry to expand its participation in the value chain of the European Union’s renewable energy industry, create more jobs, and increase the added value.

CTEM brightfield images are formed by a combination of relatively high resolution elastically scattered electrons and unscattered and inelastically scattered electrons. In the case of electron spectroscopic images (ESI), the inelastically scattered electrons cause a loss of both contrast and spatial resolution in the image. In the case of ESI imaging on the Zeiss EM902, the transmited electrons are dispersed into their various energy components by passing them through a magnetic prism spectrometer; a slit is then placed in the image plane of the prism to select the electrons of a given energy loss for image formation. The purpose of this study was to compare CTEM with ESI images recorded on a Zeiss EM902 of ordered protein arrays. Digital image processing was employed to analyze the average unit cell morphologies of the two types of images.

This paper analyzes the basic parameters of monetary policy in 2000-2015 in Russia. We provide the overview of tools and objectives of monetary policy of the Bank of Russia and identify the periods of homogeneity of monetary policy regimes: from money base targeting to exchange rate targeting and finally, to interest rates policy. On the basis of this research we develop the recommendations for further quantitative research aimed at estimation of monetary policy effects in Russia.
