To improve tracking performance of engine speed in the face of nonlinearity and time-varying uncertainty, this article investigates the double closed-loop cascade active disturbance rejection control strategy for automotive engine control system. In this cascade control arrangement, the outer active disturbance rejection speed controller with the extended state observer for the speed error and its integral, and disturbance from load torque and time-varying uncertainty, drives the set-point of the inner loop to keep the engine speed to its set-point; meanwhile, the inner active disturbance rejection pressure controller with the extended state observer for the pressure error and its integral, and disturbance from the air mass flow rate leaving the intake manifold and the pumping fluctuation of air charge, manages the throttle valve to match the pressure with the set-point requested by the outer active disturbance rejection speed controller. The observer gains and controller gains of active disturbance rejection speed controller and active disturbance rejection pressure controller are determined by the linear matrix inequalities ensuring the stability and disturbance attenuation level of the closed-loop system. The effectiveness is validated by implementing the proposed strategy and a series of related control schemes in the simulator of a real V6 engine.

To improve the anti-disturbance capabilities of sensorless control system of permanent magnet synchronous motor PMSM), study on application of active disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) is put forward. The extended Kalman filter (EKF) algorithm is proprosed to estimate the rotor speed and position of PMSM for the realization of sensorless control. The ADRC is introduced to the control of speed loop to improve the control performances. Simulation results show that extended kalman filter algorithm worked well, and the proposed control strategy is superior to conventional PI speed controller for its no overshoot, high estimation accuracy, stronger capacity of anti-load-torque- disturbance and etc.

AbstractIn order to handle the non-linear system and the complex disturbance in marine engines, a finite-time convergence active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) technique is developed for the control of engine speed. First, a model for the relationship between engine speed and fuel injection is established on the basis of the mean value engine model. Then, to deal with the load disturbances and model parameter perturbation of the diesel engine, this paper designs an ADRC approach to achieve finite-time stability. Finally, simulation experiments show that the proposed method has better control effect and stronger disturbance rejection ability in comparison with the standard linear ADRC.
