Chapters 1 and 2 made brief reference to a number of potential geographical resources for tourism. Some of these resources are located within the physical environment, such as landscapes, and include coastal area, moorlands and mountains. Others are part of the human environment, including towns and cities and historic monuments – in summary this is usually known as the built environment. These physical resources and human resources are not necessarily located separately but are often found together. For example, a coastal tourism destination has a physical environment which may be made up of a beach, a shoreline, the sea and it could be backed by cliffs. This will be coupled with a human environment of, for example, hotels, restaurants and bars and possibly, a harbour or marina. This chapter considers the physical and human resources for tourism.

Purpose In order to offer a theoretical and empirical contribution to the theme, the purpose of this paper is to assess the tourist image of the destination Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, Brazil, from the tourists’ perspective. The authors specify the latent dimensions involved in the formation of the cognitive, affective, and conative image of coastal tourism destination, through which the authors can analyze and measure the construct. Design/methodology/approach The research is exploratory, descriptive, and predominantly quantitative. It uses non-probability convenience sampling, consisting of a sample of 425 tourists. Data collection were conducted in the studied destination during the summer season – 2015/2016. Findings Through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, the authors identified and tested the factors that comprise the image. Structural equation model evaluated the relationship that theoretically exists between the components of the image and the weight of the various components (cognitive, affective, and conative) on the overall image of the destination. Originality/value This research contributes theoretically and empirically to the discussions on the components of the destination image, in as much as it analyzes and interprets the cognitive, affective, and conative components of the image of the tourism destination Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

With so many coastal areas in Indonesia, it can provide a lot of potential that can be exploited such as the potential for fisheries, marine, agriculture, energy and tourism. One of the potentials that are in great demand by people is tourism. The potential for coastal tourism will have a beneficial impact on both the government and local communities living around the coastal areas if it can be managed properly. This study aims to determine the basis for determining Gili Iyang as a health tourism destination. To find out the role of the local village head in making Gili Iyang a health tourism destination. To find out the opinions of tourists who have visited Gili Iyang. To determine the role of oxygen levels in the human body. And the results of the research. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the development of the island of Gili Iyang as tourists is still not fully able to run smoothly, because there are still several supports that need to be maximized. For example, there is a study on health on Gili Iyang Island so that later this island will be known for its health tourism. In addition, it would be better if you add several places to attract tourists visiting the island.
