At the article of mechanism the electrochemical formation of WO3 films on the surface of titanium, tin and ITO-electrodes is investigated under various regime, including the deposition time τ = 2000–8000 s, the electrochemical potential of deposition on the cathode in the range from –0,4 to –1 V. A technique for the synthesis of peroxytungstic acid and a method of cathodic electrodeposition are presented. The studies carried out with tin and titanium extend the field of application of WO3 films to technologies of chemical current sources and fuel cells.

Cathodic electrodeposition in the presence of sodium dodecyl-sulphate in aqueous solution was used to prepare CuSe thin film deposited on titanium substrates. The effect of deposition potential, concentration
and deposition time were studied to determine the optimum condition for the electrodeposition process. The films were characterized by X-ray diffractrometry. Scanning electron microscopy was used to study
the morphology of the deposits. The photoresponse of the films prepared was analysed using linear sweep voltammetry in the presence of sodium thiosulphate.

The formation of thin films of gold on mica has been studied in ultra-high vacuum (5xl0-10 torr) . The mica substrates were heat-treated for 24 hours at 375°C, cleaved, and annealed for 15 minutes at the deposition temperature of 300°C prior to deposition. An impingement flux of 3x1013 atoms cm-2 sec-1 was used. These conditions were found to give high number densities of multiple twin particles and are based on a systematic series of nucleation experiments described elsewhere. Individual deposits of varying deposition time were made and examined by bright and dark field TEM after "cleavage preparation" of highly transparent specimens. In the early stages of growth, the films generally consist of small particles which are either single crystals or multiply twinned; a strong preference for multiply twinned particles was found whenever the particle number densities were high. Fig. 1 shows the stable cluster density ns and the variation with deposition time of multiple twin particle and single crystal particle densities, respectively. Corresponding micrographs and diffraction patterns are shown in Fig. 2.

The reasons for the formation of varnish deposits of turbine oils are determined. It is shown that the performance of turbine oils is determined by methods of ASTM D7843 (MPC) and ASTM D6971 (RUL) can be assessed, the process of formation of varnish deposits, the level of antioxidant properties, antioxidant content of, amend, and extend the oil change, and to predict critical situation in the operation of turbine equipment. The mechanism of formation of varnish deposits in turbine oils is proposed.
