Abstract. There is a trend to view workplace relationships through the lens of attachment theory. We developed and validated a 7-item Organizational Attachment Scale (OAS). In Study 1, we recruited 957 participants, who filled out study materials at three separate times. The OAS preserved the two-factor solution in traditional attachment measures – anxious attachment and avoidant attachment – and was invariant across time. In Study 2, we recruited 400 participants who completed the OAS in addition to several other surveys. The OAS was conceptually unique from Richards and Schat’s (2011) Co-Worker Attachment Scale (CWAS). The OAS incrementally predicted organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and organizational identity beyond the CWAS. Additionally, the OAS incrementally predicted organizational citizenship behavior and counterproductive work behavior beyond the CWAS.

Hearing is one of the five human senses and represents the ability to perceive sounds through the hearing system. The presence of normal auditory perception is one of the prerequisites for the emergence and development of speech in children. Conducting neonatal auditory screening is part of the early neonatal screening and incorporates examining infant’s hearing shortly after birth. A screening device is used that emits very low sounds with the help of simultaneous "otoacoustic emissions" from the inner ear of this acoustic stimulation. The latest researches show that in one or two in a thousand births the child has congenital deafness or impaired hearing. Aim: To acquaint midwifery students with the implementation of universal neonatal hearing screening using information from the Trakia Electronic University. Materials and Methods: The conducted survey allows us to study students' attitudes towards the audio screening. Study materials are accessible via the Internet in our e-university. The use of digital and multimedia materials is a way of enhancing the students' professional competence and the effectiveness of the learning process.

Objetive: To determine the microbial agents on UCI patients who have beendiagnosed with nosocomial sinusitis at the San Jose Hospital, (Bogota, Colombia) in a two-year period. Design: Case series study. Materials and methods: Patients who were older than 18-year olds, with a hospitalization longer than 48 hours who developed nosocomial sinusitis, according to the criteria established by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) were included. Two techniques were employed for data collection: puncture and maxillary sinus wash. Results: 19 patients fulfill the criteria requirements for nosocomial sinusitis. Average age was 55 years old. Population mostly was composed by male individuals. 94.7% had a gastric tube intervention; 89.5% had tracheal intubation 89.5% mechanical ventilation. Polymicrobial isolation with gram positive, gram negative, anaerobic and fungi were identified. Mortality in critical care unites was 32%. Conclusions: An adequate sensitivity to treatment with vancomycin and piperacillin tazobactam was evidenced in this pathology. To perform a washing or maxillary sinus puncture had the same efficiency fordiagnosing this disease.

Introduction: Wendler’s Glottoplasty is the technique that offers the best resultsamong the different types of voice feminization surgeries. Male to Female Transgender patients have in this technique the last step for their successful transformation. Objective: To describe our experience in carrying out Wendler’s glottoplasty during the process of feminization of the voice of transgender women. Design: Pseudoexperimental (before-after) study. Materials and methods: In 36 Male to Female Transgender patients, Wendler’s glottoplasty was conducted by VOICEFEM - Voice Feminization Colombia’s team, with further speech therapy rehabilitation. This technique consists of the creation of a synechia of the vocal cords which is carried out after the de-epithelization of the vocal cords on the inner face of its anterior third, 2 stitches with Vicryl 4/0 and vaporization with electrocautery in the lateral region of vocal cords upper face, and the use of biological glue in the created synechia. The measurement of the Fundamental Frequency, Maximum Phonation time, and the completion of the TSEQ questionnaire were carried out before and after the surgery. Results: There was an increase of 112 Hz in the average of Fundamental Frequency(P<0.05) 6 months after the surgery, and a decrease of approximately 30 points in the TSEQ questionnaire results. Conclusion: Wendler’s Glottoplasty conducted by an expert surgeon, provides positive results with a significant increase for fundamental frequency in the medium term, and it is imperative to do also voice therapy rehabilitation posterior to the procedure in order to obtain the expected optimal outcome.
