En el presente  artículo se hizo una propuesta de las Bases de un  Modelo   de Educación a  Distancia Virtual con el propósito de aumentar  la cobertura a través de nuevas ofertas educativas en el Posgrado en Ciencias en Educación. La perspectiva metodológica fue cualitativa de tipo descriptiva con estudio de caso según Stake (1999), desde un enfoque mixto de Hernández, Fernández y Baptista (2006). Como resultado se argumenta que  las bases del modelo  la integran: institución, alumnos, profesores, tutores, con un modelo interactivo,  aprendizaje autónomo, así con base en teorías de aprendizaje y andragógico.Palabras claves: educación a distancia virtual, cobertura, bimodal, educación semipresencial, modelo pedagógico interactivo.AbstractA proposal for the foundation of a Virtual Learning Distance Model in order to increase coverage through new offerings in the Graduate was made in this article. The hypothetical approach argues that the foundations of a Model Virtual Distance Education under a blended format will increase coverage to new jobs in Graduate Education. The methodological approach was qualitative descriptive case study according to Stake (1999), from a mixed approach of Hernández (2006). Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to analyse the importance of innovation in the industry; factors that condition technological competitiveness at Magneti Marelli Controle Motor; analyse the risks and opportunities involved in the process of diffusion and management of flexfuel technology. Design/methodology/approach – The methodological approach was qualitative/descriptive case study, supported by the theoretical framework on risk analysis and strategic analysis. Findings – In a Brazilian market context, new technologies need to make cars more competitive in cost/price terms. Magneti Marelli had an innovative and important role in the development and implementation of this technology. Thus, it achieved a higher share of market and recognition of its entrepreneurial character. Originality/value – There are few academic papers that relate the topics risk, strategy and Innovation. Moreover, the paper reports a successful case of Brazilian innovation in the global automotive industry.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the concern developments of first-time distance education instructors using the concerns-based adoption model (CBAM). This study used stages of concern (SoC), a component of CBAM, as its theoretical framework. A descriptive case study was implemented, which focused on the adaptation processes of nine instructors lecturing for the first time via distance education. The instructors attended a two-day training, which was designed based on their initial concerns. Then instructors implemented their courses for four weeks via distance education. While the informational and personal stages (self-concerns) decreased compared to the initial findings, the consequence stage increased in intensity. However, self-concerns remained predominant in the process despite the reduction in self-concerns and increase in the consequence stage. Based on the findings, the implications for distance education and recommendations for addressing the instructors’ concerns are discussed. Recommendations for alleviating the concerns of first-time distance education instructors include: the provision of ongoing concern-based interventions that incorporate technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge; providing working examples related to distance education from which instructors can learn vicariously; and encouraging collaboration among instructors.

La COVID-19 ha generado un escenario educativo inesperado en el que la educación a distancia se ha convertido una realidad en todas las etapas educativas. No obstante, atender a todo el alumnado debe seguir siendo una prioridad docente. Este estudio de caso examina el efecto generado por una propuesta gamificada sobre alumnado de tercero y cuarto de primaria. El estudio se acomete mediante una metodología mixta que analiza cuantitativamente los datos de participación del alumnado (n=138) y cualitativamente la percepción de la docente implicada a través de una entrevista. Los resultados cuantitativos, evidencian diferencias estadísticamente significativas en la participación del alumnado durante las semanas que se utilizó la gamificación. Además, la entrevista muestra cuatro categorías sobre las que se conforma la percepción de la docente sobre la intervención: inclusión, participación, motivación y reto personal. En conclusión, el estudio desvela que la gamificación puede ser un método útil para favorecer la educación inclusiva, aumentar la participación del alumnado e incrementar su motivación; y aporta información de calado susceptible de ser transferida a otros contextos a fin de mejorar las experiencias de educación a distancia garantizando la atención a todo el alumnado. COVID-19 has come with an unexpected educative scenario where distance education became a reality in all educational stages. However, attending to every student should still be a must for all educators. This case study examines the effect of a gamified proposal on third and fourth level primary students. The study uses a mixed methods approach analyzing quantitatively students’ participation data (n=138) and qualitatively the viewpoint of the involved teacher through an interview. The quantitative results show statistically significant differences in the students’ participation during the weeks that gamification was applied. Moreover, the interview displays four categories that conform the teachers’ perspective regarding the intervention: inclusion, participation, motivation and personal challenge. In conclusion, the study discloses that gamification may be a useful method to promote an inclusive education, increase students’ participation as well as their motivation. In addition, it contributes to share relevant information transferable to other contexts in order to improve distance education experiences guaranteeing attention to all students.

The chapter aims to demonstrate how important the administration of innovation is as a competitive strategy in business. In order to clarify the objectives of these studies, the authors show the importance of the administration of inovation in small business to present the advantages and disvantages of the process related administration of innovation and how it can make a competitive administration of innovation strategic point. The methodological approach was the quantitative and qualitative, descriptive and purpose applied to a case study in the company which served as sample survey, with the participation of 9 employees, including 2 managers and 7 employees. As a result, it is evaluated that 86% approve and 14% disapprove of innovation management and its benefits in developing processes and ensuring a satisfactory standard of competitiveness. The chapter reveals how making this tool can change businesses in a positive way, making the company more competitive and giving the managers more agility and precision in their processes.

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kualitas kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diberi pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Pembelajaran Matematika Realistik (PMR) pada materi segi empat pokok bahasan persegi dan persegi panjang. Jenis penelitian adalah studi kasus deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII(6) SMP Negeri 15 Medan yang berjumlah 40 orang, kemudian diangkat subjek yang dianalisis secara kualitatif ditinjau dari aspek indikator kemampuan (tinggi, sedang dan rendah), aspek kesalahan dan aspek jawaban kosong. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari: Tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan lembar panduan wawancara. Teknik analisis data meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa 22,5% kategori tinggi, 37,5% kategori sedang dan 40% kategori rendah. Selanjutnya melalui analisis kualitatif diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa: 1) Siswa berkemampuan tinggi yaitu mampu dalam berkomunikasi secara matematis dengan baik; 2) Siswa berkemampuan sedang kurang mampu dalam bekomunikasi secara matematis; 3) Siswa berkemampuan rendah tidak mampu berkomunikasi secara matematis; 4) Kesalahan siswa terjadi dalam memahami permasalahan, menggunakan konsep-konsep dan langkah-langkah yang dibutuhkan untuk penyelesaian masalah; 5) Pada jawaban kosong siswa tidak mampu memahami langkah-langkah penyelesaian masalah, siswa kurang mampu dalam menggunakan dan menerapkan operasi hitung, siswa tidak mampu memahami konsep-konsep dalam penyelesaian masalah. Kata kunci: analisis kualitatif; komunikasi matematika; matematika realistik This article aims to describe the quality of mathematical communication skills of students who are given learning with Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on rectangular material, square and rectangular subject matter. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive case study. The subjects of this study were students of class VII(6) of SMP Negeri 15 Medan totaling 40 people, then the subject was analyzed qualitatively from the aspect of capability indicators (high, medium and low), Error aspects and empty answer aspects. The research instrument consisted of mathematical communication skills test and interview guide sheet. Data analysis techniques included data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students' mathematical communication skills were 22.5% in the high category, 37.5% in the medium category and 40% in the low category. Furthermore, through qualitative analysis, it was concluded that: 1) Students with high abilities are able to communicate mathematically well; 2) Students with average abilities are less capable in communicating mathematically; 3) Low-ability students are not able to communicate mathematically; 4) Student errors occur in understanding problems, using concepts and steps needed to solve problems; 5) In the empty answer students are not able to understand the problem solving steps, students are less able to use and apply the counting operation, students are not able to understand the concepts in solving problems. O objetivo dessa pesquisa foi analisar a formação dos professores que atuam nos três cursos técnicos de nível médio oferecidos na modalidade a distância da Rede e-Tec Brasil do CEFET-MG e como essa formação interfere em suas práticas pedagógicas. Para tal, utilizou-se uma metodologia de pesquisa com abordagem qualitativa, por meio de levantamento bibliográfico e estudo de caso. Como instrumentos de coleta de dados, foram realizadas observações online no Ambiente Virtual de Aprendizagem (AVA Moodle) que abriga os três cursos a distância do CEFET-MG e aplicação de questionários aos professores desses cursos. Os resultados encontrados permitem concluir que a maioria dos professores não possui habilitação em Licenciatura e nem formação especifica para lecionarem na EaD, sobretudo para a utilização dos recursos e atividades do AVA Moodle. Como consequência, os professores têm dificuldades em estabelecer suas práticas pedagógicas e estratégias específicas para a EaD, fazendo com que o trabalho docente na modalidade a distância apresente pouco diferencial no que diz respeito à modalidade presencial.Palavras-chave: Educação a distância. Práticas pedagógicas.The training and pedagogical practices of the teachers who work in the technical courses in the EAD mode in the e-Tec Brazil Network of CEFET-MGABSTRACTThe objective of this research was to analyze the training of teachers who work in the three technical courses offered in the distance modality of CEFET-MG e-Tec Brazil Network and how this training interferes with their pedagogical practices. To achieve this goal, a research methodology with a qualitative approach was adopted, through a bibliographic research and case study. As data collection instruments were made online observations in the virtual learning environment (AVA Moodle), which houses the three distance courses of CEFET-MG and, the application of questionnaires to the teachers of these courses. The results found allow us to conclude that most teachers do not have a Bachelor's degree or specific formation to teach in the EaD, especially for the use of the resources and activities of AVA Moodle. As a consequence, teachers have difficulties in establishing their pedagogical practices and specific strategies for distance education, making the teaching work in the distance modality presents low differential in relation to the classroom modalityKeywords: Distance education. Symbols and symbolisms across literary genres are powerful rhetoric devices used to enhance not only writers’ style, but to convey richness in meaning that transcends narrative descriptions. However, as its interpretations are context-bound, it causes anxieties for the under-proficient language teacher who, firstmost, requires deep specific content knowledge to drive instruction and enhance cognition amongst learners. Using qualitative descriptive case study, this paper aims to provide specific content knowledge by examining the literary use of symbols, symbolisms and significance in Yann Martel’s ‘Life of Pi’, which has been prescribed as a set book for Grade 12 school-exiting learners in South Africa, for the year 2017 onwards. The paper will – by analysing arbitrary, cultural and personal symbolisms and significances, mostly through psychoanalytical lens – unravel covert meanings and messages in cultural, religious and environmental contexts whilst simultaneously showing how these are pivotal to understanding major themes in the novel.

Purpose The aim of this study is to analyze the capitals moved in decisions about sustainability in narratives from and referring to Samarco Minerações, S.A. under a perspective guided by Bourdieusian sociology. Design/methodology/approach Oriented by historicist ontology and historical epistemology, this research is classified as qualitative, descriptive and documentary, with narrative analysis and case study. The selected organization-case was Samarco Minerações, S.A. The documentary sources considered were sustainability reports, social networks channels and news published in Brazilian newspapers of high circulation. The collected information was submitted to the narrative analysis method. Findings Samarco Minerações, S.A. maintained the sustainability posture before and after the ore tailings dam rupture. The decision models adopted (decentralized) and the moved capitals (economic and technological) after the ecocide revealed a change in the organizational practices in front of a new instability scenario, and the organization’s attempt to reach acknowledgment, legitimacy and power. Social implications The organization was selected because of its involvement in an ecocide. The crime generated economic (suspension of tax collection caused by the organizational inactivity), social (unemployment and deaths) and environmental (iron ore tailings contaminated the region’s ecosystem) impacts. Originality/value The greatest value and contribution this paper offers is an alternative intermediary methodological approach using Bourdieusian micro-sociology to analyze narratives based on capitals dynamics and doxa. This theoretical and methodological approach can prove fruitful for further research in sustainability studies on other topics, and even in other fields.
