Pesantren, as an authentic educational institution initiated by Indonesian Muslims, provides parents aneffective alternative to educate their children. For years, pesantren has proven trusted in educating youthand establishing a standard in both general and religious educations. In this study, the researchers willdiscuss factors that motivate parents to entrust pesantren as the institution to educate their children. Thisstudy uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, andthe results of relevant studies. After analyzing the data, the results indicate that there are two types ofmotives among parents. First is general motivation in placing children in pesantren, namely intrinsicmotivation which covers parents' ideals having a generation with the quality of faith and good moralconduct, forming morals, and building strong physical and mental. The other factor is extrinsic motivation, including intense, integrated, and comprehensive Islamic teaching, positive activities carried outcontinuously for 24 hours, and proper coaching methods. The two factors indicate that parents' motivationto entrust pesantren as an educational institution is relevant to current conditions in which the youngergeneration is prone to moral depravity

Trilha Verde da Maria Fumaça: railroad heritage and tourism in the Vale do Jequitinhonha (Brazil). In 1986, the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy was created in the United States, a nonprofit organization with a mission to contribute to conservation of the railway heritage, turning extensions abandoned on rails trails, designed exclusively for walkers, cyclists and riders. With this perspective, 15 years ago a community began a mobilization to transform the old Railway Corinto-Diamantina, located in Vale do Jequitinhonha / MG, into the first rail trails in Brazil, called Trilha Verde da Maria Fumaça - TVMF. In addition to the conservation of rail assets, TVMF seeks to stimulate the local economy through the Community Based Tourism. This article is an exploratory and descriptive case study of TVMF. The research involved literature review and interview questions for the manager of the NGO Caminhos da Serra, by using semi-structured questionnaire. Basically every student must master mathematics taught in school because mathematics is a branch of science from various sciences but in fact many students think that mathematics is a complicated lesson that makes them feel dizzy to learn it. In the end their hearts and minds were not open to understanding mathematics when it was explained by the teacher in school so that they had a lot of problems to solve the problem and resulted in incorrect filling in the questions given. The purpose of this study is none other than to analyze students' errors in mathematical communication skills in completing flat-build material. The subjects used were students from one of the high schools in Cihampelas. This research method is qualitative descriptive and the instrument used consists of a mathematical communication ability test. Based on the results of the research, the location of the causes of errors made by students is a concept, procedure and computational error. Factors that cause errors because they do not understand simple concepts, do not know the purpose of the problem, cannot complete mathematical sentences and are not careful in calculating.
