Simulation of thin granular films and twolayer structures is carried out by Monte Carlo methods. Temperature dependence of equilibrium macroscopic characteristics of granular films such as magnetization, energy, heat capacity, and magnetic susceptibility are calcu-lated for different linear sizes of granules. Influence of exchange integral values for inter-action between granules in film and interlayer interaction in twolayer structure is studied.

The heat capacity of liquid 3He up to 2.5 K is calculated on the basis of a spin-fluctuation model in the context of the Landau theory of Fermi liquids. A good fit of the data is achieved by including the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility and by using a different, smaller, quasi-particle mass. It is also shown that the magnetic susceptibility and the compressibility are analytic functions of the temperature.

The anisotropic Ising model with competing interactions is investigated in wide temperature range and |J1/J| parameters by means of Monte Carlo methods. Static critical exponents of the magnetization, susceptibility, heat capacity, and correlation radius are calculated in the neighborhood of Lifshitz point. According to obtained results, a phase diagram is plotted, the coordinates of Lifshitz point are defined, and a character of multicritical behavior of the system is detected.

By the Wang-Landau algorithm of the entropy Monte Carlo method the thermodynamic properties of the magnetic dendrimers at different values of the exchange interaction are studied. The density of states of the system are calculated and the magnetic structure of the ground state defined. The temperature dependence of the various thermodynamic parameters, such as the magnetization m, entropy S, the internal energy E and the heat capacity C are calculated. It is shown that in the studied model dendrimer magnetic influence of surface units in the overall picture of the system behavior with increasing system size unabated.

ABSTRACTThe temperature dependence of disordering of Cu3Au during ion irradiation has been investigated by computer simulations using MONTE CARLO methods. The investigation was motivated by peculiar experimental observations that the initial disordering rate begins to decrease above ~300 K, which can be explained by vacancies just becoming mobile at that temperature, but then at ~ 475 K, it reaches a minimum and then increases rapidly as the temperature is further increased, up to the order-disorder temperature. The present simulation shows that this behavior can be understood in terms of temperatures dependencies in both atomic mixing in the cascade and the efficiency of vacancy annealing of disorder as the vacancies diffuse out of the cascade.
