AbstractIn this article, some new travelling wave solutions of the (3+1) dimensional Boiti–Leon–Manna–Pempinelli (BLMP) equation are obtained using the modified exponential function method. When the solution functions obtained are examined, it is seen that functions with periodic functions are obtained. Two and three dimensional graphs of the travelling wave solutions of the BLMP equation are drawn by selecting the appropriate parameters

This paper focuses on the instability modulation and new travelling wave solutions of the (2 + 1)-dimensional Kundu–Mukherjee–Naskar equation via the tanh function method. Dark, mixed dark–bright, complex solitons and periodic wave solutions are archived. Strain conditions for the validity of results are also reported. Instability modulation properties of the governing model are also extracted. Various wave simulations in 2D, 3D and contour graphs under the strain conditions are presented.

We present 10 new equilibrium solutions to plane Couette flow in small periodic cells at low Reynolds number Re and two new travelling-wave solutions. The solutions are continued under changes of Re and spanwise period. We provide a partial classification of the isotropy groups of plane Couette flow and show which kinds of solutions are allowed by each isotropy group. We find two complementary visualizations particularly revealing. Suitably chosen sections of their three-dimensional physical space velocity fields are helpful in developing physical intuition about coherent structures observed in low-Re turbulence. Projections of these solutions and their unstable manifolds from their ∞-dimensional state space on to suitably chosen two- or three-dimensional subspaces reveal their interrelations and the role they play in organizing turbulence in wall-bounded shear flows.

In this paper, the exp-function method is applied by using symbolic computation to construct a variety of new generalized solitonary solutions for the Chaffee-Infante equation with distinct physical structures. The results reveal that the exp-function method is suited for finding travelling wave solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations arising in mathematical physics

The existence and uniqueness of travelling-wave solutions is investigated for a system of two reaction–diffusion equations where one diffusion constant vanishes. The system arises in population dynamics and epidemiology. Travelling-wave solutions satisfy a three-dimensional system about (u, u′, ν), whose equilibria lie on the u-axis. Our main result shows that, given any wave speed c > 0, the unstable manifold at any point (a, 0, 0) on the u-axis, where a ∈ (0, γ) and γ is a positive number, provides a travelling-wave solution connecting another point (b, 0, 0) on the u-axis, where b:= b(a) ∈ (γ, ∞), and furthermore, b(·): (0, γ) → (γ, ∞) is continuous and bijective

Travelling wave solutions for the generalized Boussinesq wave equation are studied by using the Weierstrass elliptic function method. As a result, some previously known solutions are recovered, and at the same time some new ones are also given, as well as integrable ones.

Abstract Computational and travelling wave solutions provide significant improvements in accuracy and characterize novelty of imposed techniques. In this context, computational and travelling wave solutions have been traced out for Tzitzéica and Dodd-Bullough-Mikhailov equations by means of (1/G′)-expansion method. The different types of solutions have constructed for Tzitzéica and Dodd-Bullough-Mikhailov equations in hyperbolic form. Moreover, solution function of Tzitzéica and Dodd-Bullough-Mikhailov equations has been derived in the format of logarithmic nature. Since both equations contain exponential terms so the solutions produced are expected to be in logarithmic form. Traveling wave solutions are presented in different formats from the solutions introduced in the literature. The reliability, effectiveness and applicability of the (1/G′)-expansion method produced hyperbolic type solutions. For the sake of physical significance, contour graphs, two dimensional and three dimensional graphs have been depicted for stationary wave. Such graphical illustration has been contrasted for stationary wave verses traveling wave solutions. Our graphical comparative analysis suggests that imposed method is reliable and powerful method for obtaining exact solutions of nonlinear evolution equations.
