AbstractObjectiveThe aim of this paper is to identify basic relationships between intellectual capital efficiency in banks, their corporate governance, and their financial performance. Examining these relationships seems justified as up to now the topic has been investigated relatively rarely.MethodsStructural Equation Modeling was used to accomplish the research objective. The structure of the research tool and the subject matter analysed in the study were drawn from reviews of the subject literature. Quarterly data for the years 2007–2017 published in reports and financial statements of banks listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange formed the basis for the analysis.FindingsThe results of the conducted analysis do sustain the postulated hypothesis that corporate governance and intellectual capital of banks listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange have a concurrent, positive impact on financial performance At the same time the relationship between intellectual capital efficiency and (selected features of) corporate governance turned out to be ambiguous and statistically insignificant.Practical implicationThe proposed model of structural equations may be used to identify the relationship in question, or its lack, in other areas of organisational activity. Furthermore, the study results provide guidelines for executives with respect to intellectual capital management and corporate governance.Originality/valueSEM is a new, original proposal for measurement and presentation of the relationship between intellectual capital efficiency in banks, their corporate governance, and their financial performance.

The main objective of a company in running its operational activities is to maximize profit. Apart from that, the company is also obliged to provide maximum contribution to the community. To accommodate the objectives and obligations, the company may apply a system called Corporate Governance (CG). The company can also implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as its significant step in contributing to the community. The implementation of CG and CSR is related because CSR is a consequence of CG implementation. In addition to CG and CSR are interconnected, CG and CSR are also interconnected with Corporate Financial Performance (CFP). Through the implementation of CG, the company can improve CFP. The relationship between CSR and CFP can be associated positively or negatively. The research was conducted on 100 companies listed in Kompas100 index to determine the influence of CG to CSR, influence of CG to CFP, influence CSR to CFP, and influence of CG to the CFP with CSR as a moderating variable. Structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis was used to determine the relationship of these three variables. The results showed that CG influenced positively to CSR, but influenced negatively to CFP. Likewise, CSR influenced negatively to CFP. Due to the negative influence of CG to CFP and CSR to CFP, CG also influenced negatively to the CFP through the disclosure of CSR as moderating variable.Keyword: corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, corporate financial performance, Indeks Kompas100

According to the classical theory of the firm, a firm can create value and earn maximum profits through financial capital. This view is valid in a stable environment. In recent decades, environmental conditions getting really erratic. Therefore, the role of financial capital in creating value and profitability is questionable. According to the modern theory of enterprise, intellectual capital is more dominant than the financial capital. This study aimed to examine the relationship/influence of financial capital and intellectual capital, directly or indirectly, to the company's financial performance among banking companies in Indonesia. Data obtained from banks, which in a single entity. Data that qualify the requirements is processed by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The analysis showed that the financial capital (assets) indirectly influential, positive, and has significant impact on the firm's financial performance through intellectual capital and non-financial performance. Indirect effect on the financial performance of assets through intellectual capital is estimated at 0.166 and through non-financial performance to financial performance estimated at 0,600 (ROA) and at 0.617 (NI). Thus it is true that intellectual capital is a strategic asset that mediates the creation of superior performance of banking companies in Indonesia.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of the value creation efficiency of firms’ intellectual capital and firm's market valuation and financial performance. Using 88 manufacturing companies data drawn from Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) reporting period 2002 - 2004 and Pulic's Value Added Intellectual Capital Employed Efficiency (VACA), Human Capital Efficiency (VAHU), and Structural Capital Efficiency (STVA) and multiple regression model to examine the relationship between corporate value creation efficiency and firms’ market-to-book value ratio, and explore the relationship between intellectual capital and firms financial and market value. The result is support the fist hypothesis; market value hypothesis that there is significantly effect between intellectual capital and market-to-book value ratio (M/B). The second hypothesis show there are significantly effect between intellectual capital and return on equity (ROE) as financial performance.

Manufacturing industry is the industry that the largest contribution to GDP growth until 2017. Although still the largest source of the increase in GDP, the contribution of manufacturing to GDP continued to decline since 2015. However, this does not cause the stock price decline of manufacturing. Based on this phenomenon, this study aims to examine the internal factors are thought to be able to increase the value of the company. The population in this study are all manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2013-2017 as many as 144 companies with a total sample of 76 companies that obtained by purposive sampling. Then, samples were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling results show that IC and capital structure does not directly affect the value of the company. But IC and capital structure directly affects financial performance. Thus, the financial performance is able to mediate the effects of IC and capital structure to the company's value. The better the financial performance of a company, the better is also the company's value in the eyes of investors.

Keywords: Intellectual Capital, Capital Structure, Financial Performance, Company Value

Intellectual capital is vital for companies to improve competitiveness. Company stakeholders are starting to realize that intellectual capital is one of the intangible assets that need to be managed properly because it helps companies compete. This study aims to examine financial performance in mediating the effect of intellectual capital on investor reaction. Financial performance is measured using a return on assets, intellectual capital as an independent variable is measured using value-added Intellectual capital (VAICTM) which consists of three components, namely: human capital, structural capital, and relational capital, while investor reactions are measured using abnormal returns. The object of research is the banking sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2016-2018 by the determined purposive sampling. This study uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for data analysis and hypothesis testing, and uses the WarpPLS version 7.0 software to process data. Based on the test results, several conclusions: (a) Intellectual has a positive and significant effect on investor reaction, (b) Intellectual capital has a positive and significant effect on financial performance, (c) financial performance has a positive and significant effect on investor reaction, and (d) financial performance can fully mediate the effect of Intellectual capital on investor reactions.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate relationships among dependence, trust, and integration in the Chinese 3PL context. 3PL integration is manifested in two key dimensions: information sharing and process coordination. Design/methodology/approach This study develops a dependence-trust-3PL integration-performance model and tests it using structural equation modeling with survey data collected from 361 companies in the Greater China area (i.e. mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan). Findings The results show that switch dependence is indirectly related to information sharing and process coordination through goodwill trust, while goal dependence has direct links with both integrative behaviors. The authors also found that only goodwill trust mediates the relationship between dependence and integrative behaviors, while ability trust does not mediate any relationships. Finally, the analysis validated the direct link between process coordination and financial performance, but did not find a significant link between information sharing and financial performance. Originality/value Different from most previous studies on similar topics, this study examines the impacts of different types of dependence and trust on different 3PL integration dimensions. As a result, the findings are more specific and have direct relevance to effective 3PL relationship management in China.

The aim of this study is to provide clarity of intellectual capital effects and customer satisfaction as a mediating variable in the relationship between digital marketing for firm performance. The study was conducted on Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Kudus district by taking a sample of 134 SME managers such as owners and operational managers. Through structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis, it is discussed that the mediated hypothesized effect is statistically significant. In other words, intellectual capital and customer satisfaction can bridge the relationship of digital marketing variables to firm performance. This finding helps management in understanding the ability of internal resources to be able to utilize information technology to support the resources they have. Therefore, SMEs must pay attention to factors both internal and external, agreeing to understand the suitability of the firms in determining the most appropriate use of digital marketing.

The objective of the study was to establish the relationship between corporate governance Index and financial performance and evidence from Amman stock exchange. To achieve this objective, this study applied descriptive research structure. In this case, the research focused on the 181 firms listed at the Amman Stock Exchange (Appendix I). The statistical techniques that was applied to analyze collected data included descriptive statistics. The information analyzed revealed that the model summary indicated that the R² to be 0.243. This meant that 24.3% of the variation in performance (ROA) was due to the predictor variable captured in the study. This also implied that 75.7% of the variation in ROA was attributed to the measurements of error and other factors that could have had an effect on the ROA but were not captured in the study. The estimated model showed that ROA when other factors are held constant was 1.610. The outcomes also revealed that governance score had a beta coefficient of 0.573 indicating that for every unit increase in governance score on the ROA went up by 0.573. This relationship is significance since P-value of 0.025<0.05. Therefore, the model qualified as a good predictor. Keywords: Corporate Governance, Financial Performance, Amman stock Exchange.
