AbstractA new species of the genus Chelonus Panzer, 1806, C. beyarslani sp. n., is described and illustrated from Western Anatolia (Turkey). It is morphologically similar to Chelonus oculator (F., 1775), from which it differs mainly in the characteristics of antennomeres, first flagellomere, propodeum, propodeal tubercle and mesosoma.

Scutellaria topcuoglui (Lamiaceae) from Muğla Province (south-western Anatolia) is described as a new species to science. The new species is morphologically similar to S. glaphyrostachys, but differs from it by several morphological characters, such as the presence of glandular hairs in stems, leaves, bracts, calyx and corolla, scutellum length, corolla length, coloration, and indumentum, mericarp length, coloration, and sculpture, pollen shape, and habitat preference. Diagnostic characters, a comprehensive description, photographs, and a distribution map are provided.

Luciobarbus kottelati, new species, is described from the River Büyük Menderes, Aegean Sea drainage, Turkey. It is distinguished from all other species of Luciobarbus in Europe and western Anatolia by the pelvic-fin origin markedly in front of the dorsal-fin origin (vs. behind). Luciobarbus lydianus, considered to be a synonym of L. pectoralis by most recent authors is a valid species and is rediagnosed.

The species belonging to the genus Eurygaster Laporte are very important from the economic point of view in Turkey. Eurygaster integriceps Puton is one of the most harmful insects to wheat and barley, but in addition it also attacks rye, oat and other graminaceous plants. In Turkey it causes extensive damage especially in the eastern south provinces, the amount of injury caused varying from year to year and from place to place. In epidemic years the total amount of the losses in some areas can reach up to 9o% if no control measures are used. Eurygaster maura (L.) and Eurygaster austriaca (Schrk.), found especially in Western Anatolia, cause damage approaching only 20% if no control measures are used, because their egg parasites are very active in this part of the country. A good knowledge of this genus is therefore very important to Turkish entomologists and agriculturists. While working at the University of Aegea, Izmir-Turkey, I paid speciaL attention to these insects and collected many specimens whenever time was available. Amongst my material I find one new species which is described below.

Campanula leblebicii Yıldırım (Campanulaceae) is described here as a new species. Diagnostic morphological characters, a full description, and detailed illustrations are given herein. C. leblebicii is restricted to the Çaldede Mountain in Kemalpaşa district of İzmir Province in western Anatolia, Turkey. According to its morphological features, it belongs to Campanula L. subgenus Campanula section Rupestres (Boiss.) Charadze. It shows morphological and ecological similarities with C. mugeana Yıldırım, belonging to C. section Quinqueloculares (Boiss.) Phitos., and to C. koyuncui Duman and C. teucrioides Boiss. belonging to C. section Rupestres. However, C. leblebicii is easily distinguished from these taxa, especially by its glabrous habit; stigma, 3-lobed, and capsule, open by 3 basal valves, shiny, and never concealing by enlarged appendages (from C. mugeana); smaller calyx appendages; capsule never hidden by enlarged calyx appendages, and habitat phyllite-schistose rocks (from C. koyuncui); entire leaves, calyx appendages minute, never enlarged after anthesis (from C. teucrioides).
