To improve the ecological footprint model in aspect of reflecting sustainability of the economic, social and technological, the emergy analysis and socio-economic system development index were introduced into the model. The modified ecological footprint model was applied in the calculation of ecological carrying capacity and ecological footprint in Tibet, China. The ecological carrying capacity/cap is 19.13hm2, and the ecological footprint/cap is 8.96hm2. The result shows that the Tibet region is under the condition of ecological surplus and it is suitable for further programs development to some extent. But the high proportion of energy resources, cement and fertilizer utility should draw attention during the exploitation or construction progress.

Stable and sustainable economic development—including that of renewable energy resources (RES)—requires institutional support of an environment that would enable market operations, and support them in case they are ineffective. Innovation brokers, including structured technology transfer networks, play a key role in promoting, disseminating, and liaising between the parties in the RES sector. The aim of the paper is to present the structure of events used to promote RES in Europe by the Enterprise Europe Network in the years 2017–2018; to verify whether the type of promotion instrument used is significantly related to the location of the events organized; to research whether the selection of the supporting partner is determined by the organized event’s geographical location. The analysis is carried out by means of an empirical study of the network of innovation brokers, i.e., the Enterprise Europe Network. Additionally, the available data are analyzed in terms of the type of the partner supporting individual events. It has been shown that there is a significant variation in the structure of the types of events for individual regions of Europe. This could mean that the organizers’ decisions as to the type of events organized in particular regions of Europe are deliberate and in some way adjusted to the region in which they take place.

This paper proposes a cyber-physical system to manage flexible residential loads based on virtualized energy packets. Before being used, flexible loads need to request packets to an energy server, which may be granted or not. If granted, the energy server guarantees that the request will be fulfilled. Each different load has a specific consumption profile and user requirement. In the proposed case study, the residential consumers share a pool of energy resources that need to be allocated by the energy server whose aim is to minimize the imports related to such a group. The proposed solution shows qualitative advantages compared to the existing approaches in relation to computational complexity, fairness of the resource allocation outcomes and effectiveness in peak reduction. We demonstrate our solution based on three different representative flexible loads; namely, electric vehicles, saunas and dishwashers. The numerical results show the efficacy of the proposed solution for three different representative examples, demonstrating the advantages and drawbacks of different allocation rules.
