Necropsy on 15 specimens of white-tufted grebe, Rollandiarolland, caught in the Mar Chiquita and Chascomús lagoons (Buenos Aires province), revealed the presence of Contracaecumovale (Linstow, 1907). This nematode shows a marked specificity for podicipediform birds. The specimens were identified from morphological study on features such as cephalic and esophageal structures and caudal papillae, using both optical and scanning electron microscopy. This is the first record of C. ovale parasitizing R. rolland in Argentina.

Cecilioides acicula (Müller, 1774), family Ferussaciidae, is native to the Palaearctic region but has been dispersed around the word by human activity. Here, we report the presence of this introduced species in La Plata city, Buenos Aires province, Argentina. This snail is largely subterranean and frequently is found in old graves in association with skeletal remains. Our samples were collected from sediments from the Municipal Cemetery of La Plata, Buenos Aires province, Argentina.

Carcharocles megalodon is considered a macropredatory shark that inhabited the seas around the world from middle Miocene to late Pliocene. In Argentina, it has only been formally recorded at two localities. Here, we report the first record for this taxon in the Buenos Aires Province. This occurrence is based on an isolated tooth recovered on the beach at the Punta Médanos locality, which lacks clear stratigraphic context. Based on the regional geology, the specimen probably came from Pliocene beds. Its size indicates that it probably belongs to a juvenile individual. Keywords: Carcharocles megalodon, macropredatory shark, fossil teeth, Mar de Ajó.

Australapatemon canadensis Dubois and Rausch, 1950 (Digenea, Strigeidae) is reported parasitizing to Cygnus melancoryphus (Molina) (Anatidae) from Lacombe Lagoon, Buenos Aires Province and Pellegrini Lake Río Negro Province, Argentina. This species is described and compared with related species. The finding of A. canadensis in C. melancoryphus in Argentina represents a new host record extending to South America the geographical distribution of this species.

The present work extends to Argentina the distribution of Hypostomus aspilogaster originally described from Uruguay River in southern Brazil. The examined specimens were sampled in the stream Mandisoví Grande, affluent of Uruguay River in Entre Ríos province, and in Punta Lara, from Río de la Plata basin, in Buenos Aires province, Argentina. This represents the first country record for this species.
