The city we inhabit, the territory we share, it is nowadays under revision, and urbanism is central to these reflections. The experiences of “Territorio Tolosa” (Tolosa Territory), a collective project of urban contemplation and neighborhood transformation, comprised by architects, artists and the local community, which I have coordinated for the past five years. We have run walks around Tolosa, organized workshops, performances and different types of collective practices to re-signify the spaces we inhabit. Our research questions those architectures that support hegemonic ways of producing controlled and a priori spaces, proposing instead open processes to participatory practices, which include walks and collective mapping as ways of thinking about urbanism. In one hand, we want to explore procedures to deconstruct the traditional ways of producing architecture, based on individual skill, in order to promote them as collective processes, collaborative and transdisciplinary. On the other hand, we want to explore deeper into the architectures of delay, proximity and care, to enhance the pre-existing urban landscape and the sensitive encounter between people. Tolosa is neighborhood in La Plata city, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Tolosa will be taken as the research focus, to rethink the neighborhood in the xxi century from feminist perspective.

The present study analyzes the intestinal nematofauna of the orthopteran species Anurogryllus muticus and Neocurtilla claraziana as part of a survey work conducted in pastures from the region of La Plata to isolate entomopathogenic nematode species. Eleven nematode species belonging to the families Thelastomatidae, Travassosinematidae, Cephalobidae, Rhabditidae, and Plectidae are reported. Parasitism percentages from 0.31 to 22.71 % were observed being Blatticola cristovata and Cephalobellus magalhaesi the most prevalent species. Cephalobium nitidum, Cruznema tripartitum, and Plectus parietinus are reported for the first time from Argentina. The findings of the study contribute to a better understanding of the biodiversity status of insect parasitic nematodes of the region.

Returning to some results, here we will analyze the itineraries of a group of musicians who are members of the circuit, focusing on their trajectories, the journeys they make in the urban space and the logics that organize their gait. We hypothesize that it’s the trajectories of the actors that modulate the paths they make, as well as those spatial paths that have a performative character about their biographies. The methodological strategy will be qualitative, using various data production tools, where the shadow (Jirón, 2012) stands out as a technique.Likewise, this article also provides a reflection on methodological tools to study artistic practices in the city and their reciprocity: the way the city conditions practices, the ways in which these practices produce city. Keywords: Circuit. Menarche is an important maturation milestone. It normally occurs at an average age of 12.5 years and is influenced by genetic and/or environmental factors. The aim of this study was to analyze in girls residing at suburbs of La Plata city a) the median age of menarche; b) if nutritional status and fat distribution have any influence in the age of menarche. During years 2014 to 2017, 657 girls aged between 10 and 14 years(y) were surveyed, determining: presence(P)/absence(A) of menarche, weight, height, and tricipital and subscapular skinfolds. It was measured: median age of menarche (MA) according to the status quo method and logistic regression; nutritional status -undernutrition, excess weight, and normonutrition- using WHO as a reference and their cut-off points; and the distribution of adiposity through the use of subscapular/tricipital index, considering values >1 an indicative of centralized adiposity. The median age of menarche was calculated both in the general sample and by nutritional status; general and age-prevalence of menarche were compared by Chi2. Menarche was present in 44.10% of the girls with MS of 12.13 years. About 54% of the population stayed within normal limits (P: 41.20%; MS: 12.28 years) and 45.70% were malnourished; of these 4.90% showed malnutrition due to short stature (P: 25.00 %; MS: 13.40 years) and 40.80% had weight excess (P: 50.40%; MS: 11.78 years). 32.72% of the girls had centralized adiposity (P: 59.10%; MS: 11.79 years). These results allow us to conclude that nutritional status influences the median age of menarche: it is higher in undernourished girls and lower in those with weight excess. Centralized disposition of adiposity promotes the presence of menarche.

Abstract Background The first publication of minimally invasive esophagectomy in prone position (MIE PP) was developed by Cuschieri in 1994. This approach was described to access the posterior mediastinum and esophagus for mobilization and resection. In 2006, after several reports, Palanivelu presented his study, which was one of the most important series published at that time. The objective is to analyze the mortality of a group of patients with morbid obesity that underwent MIE PP. Retrospective, observational study. Methods From November 2011 to June 2017, 52 esophagectomies were performed in H.I.G.A San Martín and Instituto de Diagnóstico of La Plata city. Out of the 52 cases, only 36 of them were MIE PP, and were the ones chosen to be included in the study. Results Perioperative mortality was 8.3% (3 cases) Two cases, in the group of patients with obesity (IMC ≥ 30) were due to pneumonia and heart failure and surgery was performed using the McKeown procedure. Another case was in the group of patients without obesity (IMC ≤ 30) due to mediastinitis by leak, and the surgery performed was applying Ivor-Lewis procedure. These results did not evidence statistically significance (P ≤ 0.54) However, in the analysis of patients with morbid obesity (BMI ≥ 35) when compared with all the remaining cases, the difference was significant (P = 0.02) Conclusion There are many publications suggesting that obesity is not a risk factor for mortality after MIE. However, in our study, although it is a series with a small number of cases, there was evidence that mortality increases in patients with BMI ≥ 35 Disclosure All authors have declared no conflicts of interest.

Cecilioides acicula (Müller, 1774), family Ferussaciidae, is native to the Palaearctic region but has been dispersed around the word by human activity. Here, we report the presence of this introduced species in La Plata city, Buenos Aires province, Argentina. This snail is largely subterranean and frequently is found in old graves in association with skeletal remains. Our samples were collected from sediments from the Municipal Cemetery of La Plata, Buenos Aires province, Argentina.

AbstractOn 2 April 2013 a major flood struck the City of La Plata, Argentina, killing 89 people and displacing thousands of others. That event, the worst flood the city has suffered in the past 100 years, prompted plans for a new hydraulic infrastructure. Although such an investment is necessary, little is known about its benefits. This paper intends to shed some light on this issue by estimating the willingness to pay to avoid the risk of experiencing a flooding event. For this purpose, we have taken thousands of real estate prices in the La Plata Metropolitan Area and combined them with a high-resolution flood risks map to estimate spatial hedonic price models. The results show significant price discounting for properties in flood-prone areas.
