LONG LEG JACKUP RIG DAN PEMANFAATAN
Long Leg Jack Up Drilling Rig.

Nowadays, several seafloor equipments have been developed and deployed in order to enhance the production of petroleum and natural gas from reservoirs in deep and ultra-deep waters. Thus the installation and maintenance of such seafloor equipments shall be an issue. The most important seafloor equipment during the production phase is the “Wet Christmas-Tree” (X-tree), which is a set of valves that controls the pressure at well bottom. This equipment is installed by a Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) after the drilling and completion are finished. Recently, beside the X-mas, a variety of subsea pumps, usually called as Subsea Booster System, have been deployed in the development of new reservoirs in deep-water. At the beginning, such subsea pumps and even other seafloor equipments had been installed by a MODU. But the high-cost of the MODUs is one of the main concerns about the installation and maintenance of the subsea equipments. One alternative to reduce the installation cost is to use cable system installed on a service boat instead the completion riser of a MODU. This paper presents an initial investigation for the installation of a seafloor equipment using cable. The dynamic model will be featured; the dynamic analysis will be carried out using an in house developed simulation program in time-domain. Discussion about the trajectory and control of the equipment to be installed is also included.

As onshore oil and gas deposits are becoming more difficult to locate, and as the world demands for energy continue to increase at an alarming rate, oil companies are channeling much of their exploration activities towards offshore operations, and in particular, towards operations centered off Canada's coast lines. Because of the environment, offshore drilling presents problems which are novel to the onshore-geared oil industry. J. M. Killey discusses in detail many of the considerations involved in drafting the offshore drilling contract, concentrating on problems such as the liability of the various parties; costs; scheduling; pollution; conflict of laws; etc. Similarly, he discusses service contracts (such as supply boat charters; towing services; helicopter services; etc.^ which are necessity to the operation of an offshore drilling rig. To complement his paper, the author has included number of appendices which list the various considerations lawyer must keep in mind when drafting contracts for offshore operations.

Tunu is a mature giant gas and condensate field locate in Swamp Area on Mahakam Delta, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The field has been in developed for more than 40 years and considered as a mature field. As mature field, finding an economic well has become more challenging nowadays. The deeper zone of Tunu (TMZ) has no longer been considered profitable to be produced and the focus is shifted more on the producing widespread shallow gas pocket located in the much shallower zone of Tunu (TSZ). Facing the challenge of marginal reserves in the mature field, Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) take two approaches of reducing well cost thus increase well economics, improving drilling efficiency and alternative drilling means. Continues improvement on drilling efficiency by batch drilling, maxi drill, maximizing offline activities and industrialization of one phase well architecture has significantly squeezed the well duration. The last achievement is completing shallow well in 2.125 days from average of 6.5 days in period of 2017-2019. Utilization of Swamp Barge Drilling Rig on swamp area had been started from the beginning of the field development in 1980. Having both lighter and smaller drilling unit as alternative drilling means will give opportunity of reducing daily drilling rate. Hydraulic Workover Unit (HWU) comes as the best alternative drilling means for swamp area. In addition, fewer and smaller footprint equipment requires smaller barges with purpose of less civil works to dredge the river and preparing well location. Drilling with HWU project has been implemented at Tunu area with 5 wells has been completed successfully and safely. HWU drilling concept considered as proven alternative drilling means for the future of shallow wells development.

Abstract The paper presents a novel approach for modernizing/retrofitting offshore drilling rig power plants with islanded direct current (DC) power grids and energy storage. The concept has been successfully applied on several offshore rigs which are in operation today and is applicable to jack-ups, semi-submersibles, drill ships, as well as other types of marine support vessels for oil and gas platforms and wind farms. The approach aims to enhance the feasibility of leveraging energy storage solutions on offshore drilling rigs and marine vessels by making use of the existing power plant footprint. Unique measures have also been incorporated into the electrical system architecture to ensure that the reliability and safety of the existing alternating current (AC)-based system are not compromised. This enables operators to capitalize on the numerous benefits of energy storage (e.g., reduced emissions, enhanced dynamic performance for drilling and dynamic positioning, etc.) without having to perform a "rip and replace" of the entire power plant and electrical infrastructure.

Budi Utomo, in this paper explain that offshore drilling carried out to obtain crude oil through the oil wells. The means that must exist in the operation of offshore drilling is a bridge structure (plate form) as a place to put the drilling equipment. Known two kinds of platforms, that is platforms permanent (fixed) which stands on the feet of reinforced concrete, and the bridge is not fixed like swamp barges, drilling ship (floaters) and jack-up rig. Jack up rig is one of the offshore rigs that have the ability to elevation in accordance with a sea depth of drilling. Drilling equipment is a range of equipment that is prepared in such a way, so that such a drill rod, and all this equipment has a hole inside that allows for fluid or mud circulation. Key word: Drilling equipment

This paper is based on a study performed to delineate the personnel training and qualification needs for the operations of mobile offshore drilling units (MODUs). These units are used in exploratory drilling for petroleum resources in offshore lands. The study involved a systems task analysis, backed up by a field survey, conducted with government and industry cooperation. A data base was created consisting of structured task descriptions of MODU operations and the skills and knowledge needed to perform each task. The training and experience implications of each task were then considered in relation to the typical MODU personnel organization, personnel sources and characteristics, and the history and trends in personnel selection and training in offshore industry.
