Budi Utomo, in this paper explain that offshore drilling carried out to obtain crude oil through the oil wells. The means that must exist in the operation of offshore drilling is a bridge structure (plate form) as a place to put the drilling equipment. Known two kinds of platforms, that is platforms permanent (fixed) which stands on the feet of reinforced concrete, and the bridge is not fixed like swamp barges, drilling ship (floaters) and jack-up rig. Jack up rig is one of the offshore rigs that have the ability to elevation in accordance with a sea depth of drilling. Drilling equipment is a range of equipment that is prepared in such a way, so that such a drill rod, and all this equipment has a hole inside that allows for fluid or mud circulation.   Key word: Drilling equipment

Abstract In the same sea area, with the increase of the number of operations, the situation of jack up offshore drilling platform carrying out secondary or multiple Jack-up leg embedment operations in the vicinity, or even in the same location will increase year by year. Therefore, the operation of jack up offshore drilling platform makes the sea area “step on the footprints” The problems become more and more frequent, and have a significant impact on the operation safety of offshore platforms. During the “footprint” process of jack-up drilling platform, the spudcan will slide transversely along the direction of Jack-up leg pits to varying degrees. If the sliding distance is too large, the leg or platform structure will be damaged. Based on the symmetrical structure of the three-leg jack-up offshore platform, the bow and the starboard spudcan are slided along x-axis at different angles, respectively. According to the critical bearing capacity of the platform legs, the critical distance of spudcans sliding is calculated. Finally, the relationship between the sliding distance of spudcan in different directions and RPD (Rack phase difference) is obtained by monitoring the RPD value of legs. It provides meaningful guidance for platform designers and operators.

"Punch-through" is one of the most common types of failure affecting independent leg self-elevating-type mobile offshore drilling units (jack-ups), and existing rules do not provide any guidelines to design for "punch-through" induced forces. This paper presents a systematic method for analysis and design of independent leg jack-ups for such forces, identifying the important design and operating parameters and evaluating their effects. The method can be used to design the jack-up legs for a given set of operating parameters, or for an existing unit it can be used to define the limiting values of these parameters. Based on these limitations, operating procedures can be developed to eliminate or minimize the chances of leg damage due to punch-through. A realistic example is worked out to demonstrate the application of the method.

In order to design a reasonable safe power control system and realize the automated management of offshore drilling system, this paper analyzes the electric system features and grid configuration of drilling platform; power station design and short circuit calculation; electrical power system electroplax selection. This system adopts oceanographic engineering software EDSA for construction and parameter input and conducts short-circuit calculation for modeling and simulation. The electric system design and short-circuit calculation can be examined by simulation result and real platform.

Bulk transfer systems are part of very important bulk material transferring systems used on drilling rigs, and mainly provide and transfer pulverous material for offshore drilling rigs. The authors use the continuity equation of fluid flow, Bernoulli equation, Theory of energy loss, and gas-solid two phase flow theory to evaluate the bulk transfer ability of the bulk system for the CPOE-16 Jack-up, and to optimize the bulk piping layout, elbow radius and elbow quantity. These research results have been applied to the CPOE-16 Jack-up and have proven that implementation of these results can be effective.

LONG LEG JACKUP RIG DAN PEMANFAATAN<br />Pemboran dilepas pantai pada umumnya dilakukan dengan perangkat pemboran lepas pantai yang dikenal dengan istilah Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU). Ada beberapa macam MODU yang lazim dikenal yaitu Jack Up Drilling Rig, Drillship, Semi Submersible Rig dan Tender Assist Platform Rig.<br />Untuk pemboran dilepas pantai dengan kedalaman laut 100 meter seperti di lapangan lepas pantai “Natuna”, dapat dipergunakan jenis Semi submersible Rig, DrillShip ataupun Long Leg Jack Up Drilling Rig. Dilihat dari aspek biaya dari ketiga jenis rig ini, maka yang paling murah dan cocok untuk daerah lepas pantai dilaut Natuna ini adalah jenis Long Leg Jack Up Drilling Rig, yang memiliki kaki yang panjangnya dapat mencapai kedalaman laut tersebut. Jenis mobile rig ini adalah yang termurah dari dua jenis mobile rig lainnya.<br />Dengan menggunakan Long Leg Jack Up Drilling Rig ini akan dapat dilakukan pemboran beberapa sumur pengembangan dilapangan minyak didaerah lepas pantai Natuna itu dengan menggunakan Drilling Template sebagai tempat duduknya Subsea Well Head dan Christmas Tree. Dengan demikian maka tidak perlu digunakan Subsea Blow Out Preventer (BOP), yang membutuhkan waktu yang lama dan rumit pemasangannya. Sebagai gantinya dapat digunakan BOP yang lazim dipergunkan pada operasi pemboran didarat (Onshore),.yang posisinya berada diatas permukaan laut .<br />Untuk menghemat biaya mobilisasi rig dari pemboran satu sumur ke sumur lainnya, maka pemboran sumur pengembangan dilepas pantai ini dapat dilakukan dengan cara menggeser (skid) rig pada landasan yang tersedia di Jack Up tersebut, sehingga beberapa sumur dapat dibor dari lokasi dimana<br />Long Leg Jack Up Drilling Rig tersebut berdiri, sesuai dengan slot yang terdapat pada Drilling Template yang digunakan. Dapat terdiri dari 3slot, 4slot, atau bahkan lebih, tergantung dari luas penyebaran dari resevoir hidrokarbon yang akan diproduksikan. Biasanya salah satu dari beberapa sumur yang akan dibor melalui slot di Drilling Template ini adalah sumur vertkal dan selebihnya adalah sumur berarah atau directional well.

Introduction: There are huge numbers of drilling platforms in the world and once the worker on those platforms meet with an accident, the situation could be very serious. The consequence of this could be environmental, economic and in some cases fatal. Middle East, being one of the oil rich regions hence some of the largest operator works here. Companies here own various types of jack up rigs ranging from old generation rigs to the latest cyber-rig. This paper addresses what oil rig workers have to say about their interaction with machines, and how Human Machine Interaction (HMI) in Offshore Drilling can be improved with design. Method: A case study approach was undertaken The analysis in this paper draws on the interviews conducted with two different employees involved in operating the drilling operations conducted in the driller’s cabin of newly designed offshore rigs. A semi-structured approach was adopted, using themes identified through analysis of the preceding. The interviews were transcribed by the research team. Each interview was analyzed thematically with existing system and reported discrepancy Results: The study on Human Machine Interaction (HMI) and Human Factor regarding this has been conducted in the latest generation cyber rigs. There are many aspects of HMI and ergonomics but in this study a special concentration has been given to deal with the ergonomic standpoint and evaluates the drillers console controls.  Conclusions: When comparison is done with the existing machinery, few modifications can be thought of for better human machine interaction. A better human machine interaction system will ensure a more productive environment for the oil-rig workers.
