In Vietnam, the operating room (OR) is used with max productivity. So, how to maintain comfort environment level, which is one of the assignments in designing and installing the operating room. In this study, the OR model is designed based on ASHRAE 170 – 2013 standard [1], and dimensions are referred to as “Comparison of Operating Room Ventilation System in the Protection of the Surgical Site” [2]. ANSYS CFX is used for calculating and simulating velocity and temperature of surveyed air points inside the room by many cases. A face temperature between 20,3 and 20,6 °C and a velocity of around 0,15 to 0,18 m/s is provided from the same laminar diffuser array. From the results, the OR comfort level is reviewed through the ADPI index.

Rotor vibration attenuation is achieved with damping devices which work on different, often mutually coupled, physical principles. Squeeze film dampers are damping devices that have been widely used in rotordynamic applications. A new concept of a 5-segmented integral squeeze film damper, in which a flexure pivot tilting pad journal bearing is integrated, was investigated. The damper is studied for the eccentric position between the outer and inner ring of the squeeze film land. The ANSYS CFX software was used for solving the pressure and velocity distribution. The development of the complex three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics model of the squeeze film damper, learning more about the effect of the forces in the damper, and the knowledge about the behaviour of the flow are the principal contributions of this article.

Abstract Numerical mathematical models of non-contact oil free scroll, Roots and screw vacuum pumps are developed. Modelling was carried out with the help of software CFD ANSYS-CFX and program TwinMesh for dynamic meshing. Pumping characteristics of non-contact pumps in viscous flow with the help of SST-turbulence model were calculated for varying rotors profiles, clearances, and rotating speeds. Comparison with experimental data verified adequacy of developed CFD models.

Freezing is one the most efficient methods for conservation, especially, fruits and vegetables. Cashew is a fruit with high nutritional value and great economic importance in the Northeast region of Brazil, however, due to high moisture content, it is highly perishable. The numerical study of the freezing process is of great importance for the optimization of the process. In this sense, the objective of this work was to study the cooling and freezing processes of cashew apple using computational fluid dynamics technique. Experiments of cooling and freezing of the fruit, with the aid of a refrigerator, data acquisition system and thermocouples, and simulation using Ansys CFX® software for obtain the cooling and freezing kinetics of the product were realized. Results of the cooling and freezing kinetics of the cashew apple and temperature distribution inside the cashew apple are presented, compared and analyzed. The model was able to predict temperaturetransient behavior with good accuracy, except in the post-freezing period.
